Randolph County State Recreation Area offers both reservable and first-come, first-served camping, with about half of the sites reservable in advance and the best sites typically first-come, first-served. Reservable Illinois state-park sites are booked through the state's Camp Illinois portal or by phone with the park office. Lake Campalot is a private campground and takes bookings by phone; holiday weekends should be reserved well ahead.
