At McCormick's Creek State Park, the day-use portions of the park are open year-round, but the campground and some park trails remain closed due to the March 31, 2023 tornado damage, and recovery officials expect it will likely be several years before the campground reopens.

Paynetown offers a large, active lakeshore campground. The campground has 204 spacious campsites, with both electric and non-electric options available.
