Campgrounds and RV parks near Cordry Sweetwater Lakes, IN

Cordry Sweetwater Lakes sits in the northeast corner of Brown County, Indiana, a rural community built around two spring-fed lakes in the wooded hills south of Indianapolis. Cordry Lake covers around 160 acres and Sweetwater Lake nearly 275 acres, and both are known as some of the cleanest, clearest lakes in the state. The lakes themselves are managed by a conservancy district and are largely private, so most RV travelers base themselves at nearby campgrounds and drive in for day trips to Brown County State Park, Yellowwood State Forest, and the village of Nashville. The closest options for RV renters include Friends O' Mine Campground and Cabins and Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground in Bean Blossom, plus Brown County / Nashville KOA Holiday and eXplore Brown County closer to the state park entrance. Blue's Canoe Livery serves paddlers running the local creeks and rivers. The area draws families for forested hiking, fall color, and small-town shopping in Nashville, and it works well as a shorter drive from Indianapolis, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

Brown County State Park and other Indiana State Parks use the state's central reservation system. Reservations can be made at Camp.IN.gov, available 24 hours, or by calling the state reservation line, year-round and up to six months in advance. All campsites are reservable, and while sites not reserved may be available first-come, first-served, availability cannot be counted on, especially during summer. State parks apply a two-night minimum on weekends and a three-night minimum on holiday weekends, with a maximum stay of 14 nights. Private campgrounds like Friends O' Mine Campground and Cabins, Brown County / Nashville KOA Holiday, eXplore Brown County, and Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground book directly through their own websites or by phone, and festival weekends at Bean Blossom sell out well in advance.
