Campgrounds and RV parks near Kinsley, KS

Kinsley sits in Edwards County, Kansas, at the junction of U.S. Highways 50, 56, and 183 in the Arkansas River Valley. The town markets itself as Midway USA, halfway between New York City and San Francisco, which makes it a common overnight for RVers crossing the central plains. Options in town are limited but practical, with full-hookup sites and easy highway access. Within Kinsley itself, Four Aces RV Park is the primary option, offering full hookups, pull-through concrete pads, laundry, and a covered pavilion on Massachusetts Avenue. About 25 miles east in Larned, Santa Fe RV and West Wind Villas add more full-hookup capacity along US-56. For lake camping, HorseThief Reservoir near Jetmore, roughly an hour southwest, provides utility sites, primitive camping, cabins, and yurts on a 450-acre reservoir. Ford County State Fishing Lake, about 3 miles north and 5 miles east of Dodge City, offers free primitive sites on gravel pads next to a 45-acre lake.

Four Aces RV Park in Kinsley takes reservations directly by phone. It runs about 26 sites with concrete pads, pull-throughs, 30 and 50 amp service, and accepts Passport America and Escapees discounts. Big rigs up to roughly 65 feet are accommodated. HorseThief Reservoir accepts utility-site reservations by phone at the park office, with a deposit required at the time of booking. Online booking is also available through Campspot. From October through May, all sites revert to first-come, first-served. Santa Fe RV and West Wind Villas in Larned handle short stopovers directly through the operators. Ford County State Fishing Lake does not accept reservations; primitive sites are first-come, first-served and free, with no potable water and only vault toilets.
