Campgrounds and RV parks near Campbellsburg, KY

Campbellsburg sits in Henry County in north-central Kentucky, roughly midway between Louisville and Cincinnati along the I-71 corridor. The town itself is small, so most RV travelers use it as a jumping-off point for campgrounds clustered around Carrollton to the north, where the Kentucky and Ohio Rivers meet, and across the Ohio in Madison, Indiana. The closest full-service options include 2 Rivers Campground, a riverside park in Carrollton with 33 full-hookup sites, and General Butler State Resort Park, a hilltop resort located 44 miles northeast of Louisville near the confluence of the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers. Family-oriented private resorts include Adventure Bound Eagle Valley near Sanders, Kentucky, set in the rolling hills between Louisville and Cincinnati. Across the Ohio River in Indiana, Rivertown Campground near Vevay and Clifty Falls State Park round out the options within an easy drive. Clifty Falls sits above the Ohio River Valley where limestone cliffs drop toward the water, and Indiana DNR manages the campground year-round with a mix of electric and non-electric loops.

General Butler State Resort Park is booked through the Kentucky State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Reservations must be made 1 day ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 months in advance. There is a 1 night minimum stay during the week at all parks, and a 2 night minimum stay on peak season weekends at all parks with the exception of the Kentucky Horse Park. Kentucky State Parks prohibits importing firewood from outside Kentucky, and firewood is available for sale in state park campgrounds. Clifty Falls uses the Indiana State Parks system on ReserveAmerica. Reservations for the Clifty Falls State Park campgrounds can be made up to 6 months in advance (beginning at 12 noon on that day). Private parks including 2 Rivers Campground, Adventure Bound Eagle Valley, and Rivertown Campground are booked directly through each operator or their booking partners. Peak summer weekends fill early, and cancellation policies vary by park.
