Campgrounds and RV parks near Coldstream, KY

Coldstream is a small home rule city in northeastern Jefferson County, Kentucky, roughly 14 miles northeast of downtown Louisville along the Interstate 265 outer beltway. Its position at the edge of the Louisville metro area puts RV travelers within easy reach of both urban attractions and the Ohio River corridor that separates Kentucky from southern Indiana. Because Coldstream itself is residential, most campgrounds sit on the outskirts of Louisville or across the river in Indiana. Charlestown State Park, about 30 minutes north in Clark County, Indiana, is the closest public-land option and the largest campground in the region, with paved sites and full-hookup loops. Private RV parks including Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park, Louisville North Campground, Add-more RV Park, and Brooks RV Park and Campground fill in the gaps closer to the interstates. Together these options cover a range of trip styles, from state-park camping with hiking trails to full-hookup urban stops built for Derby-week visitors and interstate travelers.

Charlestown State Park uses the Indiana State Parks reservation system, run through Camp.IN.gov and ReserveAmerica. Sites can be booked online or by phone, with the reservation window opening up to six months in advance. The campground offers Class AA sites with water, sewer, and electricity, plus Class A electric-only sites with 50-amp service. Full-hookup sites fill quickly, so book early for weekends and peak season. Daily entrance fees are collected at the gate in addition to the campsite charge, with a higher rate for out-of-state plates. Indiana resident and non-resident annual passes are available. Private parks in the area, including Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park, Louisville North Campground, Add-more RV Park, and Brooks RV Park and Campground, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. For Derby week and major Louisville events, book eight weeks or more in advance.
