Campgrounds and RV parks near Green Spring, KY

Green Spring is a small community in Jefferson County, Kentucky, positioned in the Louisville metro just south of the Ohio River. RV travelers use it as a launching point for greater Louisville, southern Indiana river towns, and the horse country to the east. Highway access via I-64, I-65, I-71, and the Watterson Expressway makes it easy to reach camping options on either side of the river within a short drive. RV parks close to Green Spring range from full-service urban stops to a wooded state-park campground. Louisville North Campground sits directly across the Ohio in Clarksville, Indiana, while Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park, Add-more RV Park, and Brooks RV Park and Campground serve travelers on the Kentucky side. For campers who want trails and river views over interstate convenience, Charlestown State Park lies roughly 30 minutes north along the Ohio River. Because the area straddles two states, planning usually involves both the Kentucky State Parks system and Indiana DNR, plus a mix of independent private parks.

Charlestown State Park is booked through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reservation system, online via the Indiana State Parks reservation portal or by phone at 1-866-622-6746. Reservations can be made for today and up to six months in advance. Indiana state parks also charge a per-vehicle daily entrance fee that is lower for in-state plates and higher for out-of-state plates, with annual passes available. Private parks such as Louisville North Campground, Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park, Add-more RV Park, and Brooks RV Park and Campground handle bookings directly by phone or through their own websites and third-party listings. Peak weekends around the Kentucky Derby, Thunder Over Louisville, and major convention dates sell out months in advance, so travelers arriving in late April and early May should reserve as early as possible.
