Campgrounds and RV parks near Livermore, KY

The Green River is the main draw. The river is known for its great fishing, and there is a boat ramp conveniently located at the RV Park for guests who want to spend time on the water. A Kentucky Fishing License is required to fish in the Green River, and licenses can be purchased online through the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. Beyond the river, Diamond Lake Resort offers lake swimming, paddling, and family activities that appeal to RV travelers with kids. Day trips are easy from a Livermore base: Owensboro sits about 25 miles north along the Ohio River with its Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and riverfront, and Central City lies to the south along the Western Kentucky Parkway. Lake Malone State Park is roughly an hour southeast for hiking and swimming.

Western Kentucky has a humid subtropical climate. The Köppen-Geiger classification for the region is Cfa, marked by distinct seasons with warm to hot summers and cool to mild winters, and no dry season. That translates to a long usable RV season stretching from spring through fall, with peak family demand from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Spring brings the wettest weather. During the wettest month, April receives substantial rainfall, averaging 150 mm across 12 rainy days, which can affect low-lying river sites along the Green River. Summers are hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms common in June and July. Early fall is often the most comfortable stretch for camping, with warm days, cool nights, and lower rainfall. Winter camping is possible but limited. Snow in the region usually begins around December and ends by February, and Owensboro receives relatively little snow, with an annual average of about 7 inches. Some private parks reduce services or shift to seasonal storage rates in the coldest months, so travelers should confirm winter availability directly with each campground.

Sites near Livermore skew rural and quiet rather than resort-style. Livermore RV Park is known for its country hospitality, quiet, relaxed atmosphere, its shade trees, and convenience to other area attractions, and the closest neighboring parks follow a similar pattern of full-hookup pads on grass or gravel with basic shared facilities. Hookups at full-service sites typically include water, sewer, and electric, with 30 or 50 amp service available. Cell coverage is generally reliable along the US-431 corridor but can weaken on river bottoms and back roads. Checkout time at Livermore RV Park is 12 noon, and most private parks in the area follow a similar midday checkout. Expect summer humidity, mosquitoes near the water at dusk, and occasional river flooding after heavy spring rain. Pets are generally welcome but should be leashed on shared grounds.
