Campgrounds and RV parks near Philpot, KY

Philpot sits in Daviess County in western Kentucky, roughly ten miles east of Owensboro and a short drive north to the Ohio River. The area is rural and rolling, with farmland, small lakes, and river-bottom woods, making it a practical base for RV renters looking to explore the Owensboro region without staying inside the city. Most RV camping near Philpot is at privately owned parks rather than federal or state units. Windy Hollow Campground RV Park is a family-owned business located right in Owensboro, and the owners strive to make it a campground where families can enjoy the outdoors together. Livermore RV Park sits along the Green River to the south, while Diamond Lake Resort and Diamond Lake Resort Campground offer larger resort-style stays with lake access. For renters willing to cross the Ohio River into southern Indiana, Lincoln State Park Campground adds a public-land option with hiking, a swim lake, and historic sites tied to Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home.

Private parks near Philpot handle their own reservations. Windy Hollow, Livermore RV Park, and both Diamond Lake listings take bookings directly by phone or through their websites, and popular summer weekends should be reserved well in advance. Some smaller parks in the area accept cash or check only, so confirm accepted payment methods when booking. Lincoln State Park Campground, across the river in Indiana, is managed by Indiana State Parks and uses the state's central online reservation system through camp.IN.gov. Reservations must be made two days ahead of arrival and can be made up to six months in advance, and holiday weekends often sell out the day they open. When renting an RV, match the rig's length and hookup needs to the site type before confirming, since pull-through and 50-amp sites are limited at some smaller parks.
