Camping near Scottsville, Kentucky
Scottsville sits in Allen County in south-central Kentucky, about 25 minutes south of Bowling Green and roughly a half-hour drive from Barren River Lake. The town works well as a base for RV travelers who want lake access, cave country attractions, and interstate connectivity without staying in a larger city.
The closest full-service option is Barren River Lake State Resort Park, a Kentucky State Parks property on a 10,000-acre reservoir. Additional RV choices cluster around Bowling Green and the Mammoth Cave corridor to the north, including Bowling Green KOA Holiday, Beach Bend Family Campground, Dad's Bluegrass Campground, and Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf near Park City.
Most sites in the area offer 30 and 50 amp electric with water, and several include full hookups. Terrain is rolling with mature tree cover, so leveling blocks are worth packing. I-65 provides the main north-south route into the region, with US 31E and US 231 feeding local park roads.
Things to do around Scottsville

The lake supports boating, fishing, swimming at a public beach, and shoreline hiking, and the state resort park adds an 18-hole golf course along with tennis, volleyball, and guided horseback rides. A full-service marina at the park rents boats and provides launch access.
Mammoth Cave National Park lies about 45 minutes north and offers ranger-led cave tours plus above-ground trails along the Green River.
