Campgrounds and RV parks near Seneca Gardens, KY

Seneca Gardens is a small residential enclave inside the Louisville, Kentucky metro area, located a short drive east of downtown. RV travelers use it as a home base for Churchill Downs, the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Louisville Zoo, and the region's bourbon distillery trail. There are no campgrounds inside the neighborhood itself, so most travelers stage at RV parks on the south side of Louisville or across the Ohio River in southern Indiana. Louisville North Campground sits in Clarksville, Indiana, just minutes from downtown Louisville with quick I-65 access and full hookups at every RV site. Brooks RV Park and Campground is south of the city off I-65, offering full hookup sites and concrete pads. Add-more RV Park and Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park round out the metro options, while Charlestown State Park, about 20 miles northeast in Clark County, Indiana, offers the closest true state-park camping experience with electric and full-hookup sites, hiking trails, and Ohio River access.

Charlestown State Park uses the Indiana State Parks reservation system operated through ReserveAmerica. Reservations can be made for the day of arrival and up to six months in advance. A daily entrance fee is charged per vehicle, with a lower rate for Indiana plates and a higher rate for out-of-state plates, and the maximum stay is 14 nights. Private parks in the Louisville metro, including Louisville North Campground, Add-more RV Park, Silver Lakes Motorhome Complex and RV Park, and Brooks RV Park and Campground, book directly by phone or through their own websites. For Derby Week, Thunder Over Louisville, and major convention weekends, reserve as early as reservations open. For quieter weekdays, a few days of lead time is usually enough.
