Sites at the state parks tend to be shaded and reasonably level, with paved or gravel pads.
Hookups vary by campground. Lincoln Parish Park offers full-hookup RV sites plus primitive tent-only camping. State park sites at Lake D'Arbonne are equipped with water and electricity, with a dump station on-site rather than sewer at every pad. Lake Claiborne State Park follows a similar setup.
Cell coverage is decent near Ruston and patchier around the lakes. Bring bug spray for spring and summer, and expect mosquitoes and ticks near wooded trails. Firewood is generally sold on-site at the state parks to prevent moving pests between regions.
