Campgrounds and RV parks near Logansport, LA

Logansport sits on the Sabine River in DeSoto Parish in western Louisiana, directly across the water from Joaquin, Texas. The town anchors the northern end of Toledo Bend Reservoir, which extends upriver about 65 miles from the dam site near Burkeville, Texas, to Logansport. Toledo Bend is a joint Texas and Louisiana project covering roughly 185,000 acres, with about 1,200 miles of shoreline shared between the two states. RV travelers use Logansport as a base for fishing the reservoir, running the Toledo Bend Forest Scenic Byway, and reaching state and Sabine River Authority parks along the lake. Private RV parks cluster on both sides of the river, including Geronimo Village RV Park just across the bridge in Joaquin, along with Be Blessed RV Park and Center RV Park farther into east Texas. Public shoreline camping is available at Oak Ridge - State Recreation Area, one of several Sabine River Authority sites on the Louisiana shore. Marinas, resorts, campgrounds, and restaurants are distributed along the reservoir, so most trips combine a hookup site near town with day trips to boat ramps, fish-cleaning stations, and swim areas down the lake.

Louisiana state park sites on the reservoir are reserved through the Louisiana State Parks ReserveAmerica system. A non-refundable transaction fee is assessed on each reservation made online, by phone, or as a walk-in. Some sites at North Toledo Bend are held for first-come, first-served booking at the campground rather than online. Sabine River Authority parks such as Oak Ridge - State Recreation Area are managed separately by the SRA. Overnight reservations for RV spurs, cabins, and shelters can be made by calling the individual park or the Toledo Bend office. At Oak Ridge the park gate closes and is locked from 5:00 PM until 6:00 AM, with special arrangements available for late arrivals of registered guests. Private parks including Geronimo Village RV Park, Be Blessed RV Park, Center RV Park, and Huxley Bay Marina and RV Park take direct bookings by phone or through their own websites. Reserve tournament weekends and holidays several weeks out.
