Campgrounds and RV parks near Reddell, LA

Reddell is a small community in Evangeline Parish in south-central Louisiana, set in the flat prairie and bottomland country of Acadiana. It sits roughly halfway between Alexandria and Lafayette, with Interstate 49 and US-167 both within easy driving distance, making it a practical base for RV travelers exploring Cajun country. The closest developed camping is at Chicot State Park, north of Ville Platte, which covers over 6,400 acres of rolling hills and water and surrounds the 2,000-acre Lake Chicot. South Landing Chicot State Park is the main entrance area and holds the largest concentration of RV spurs, while private options in the area include 3 Oaks RV Park, Lakeview RV Park, LAcadie Inn RV Park, and Cajun Campground. Most private parks in this part of Evangeline and St. Landry parishes cater to full-hookup RV stays. The state park adds tent pads, cabins, lodges, and primitive backcountry sites along the lake loop trail, giving travelers a mix of hookup and rustic options within a short drive of Reddell.

Chicot State Park uses the Louisiana State Parks central reservation system, accessible online through gooutdoorslouisiana.com or by calling 1-833-609-0686. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance and must be booked at least 48 hours before arrival; bookings inside that window are handled by contacting the park directly. A non-refundable transaction fee is charged on every reservation, whether booked online, by phone, or as a walk-in. The park has close to 200 improved water-and-electric sites split between South Landing and North Landing, plus cabins and three lodges; all visitors enter through the South Landing main entrance on LA-3042. Private parks in the area, including 3 Oaks RV Park, Lakeview RV Park, LAcadie Inn RV Park, and Cajun Campground, generally take direct bookings by phone or through their own websites and are a good fallback when the state park fills.
