Campgrounds and RV parks near Monument Beach, MA

Monument Beach sits in the village of Bourne on the upper Cape Cod side of the Cape Cod Canal, looking out on Phinney's Harbor and the canal's western entrance. It is the only town-owned beach in Bourne with a parking lot open to non-residents, which makes it a practical base for RV travelers headed onto the Cape. The area puts campers within a short drive of the canal bike path, the Sagamore and Bourne bridges, and the towns of Sandwich and Falmouth. Most campgrounds in this stretch are private, family-run parks along MacArthur Boulevard and Route 6, with a large state-run option a few miles east in Sandwich. Bay View Campground sits close to Monument Beach and offers full amenities aimed at families. Sandy Pond Campground and Cape Cod Maple Park Campground and RV Park round out the private options within easy reach. For travelers who prefer a state forest setting, Area 2 - Shawme Crowell State Forest in Sandwich provides wooded sites in pitch pine and scrub oak, with trail access and proximity to Scusset Beach State Reservation.

State-run camping at Area 2 - Shawme Crowell State Forest is handled through the Massachusetts DCR reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Reservations can be made up to four months before the arrival date. Walk-in camping is not permitted, but same-day reservations are accepted online or by phone until 2 p.m. Eastern on the day of arrival.
