Hemlock is a small community in Saginaw County in central Michigan, roughly fifteen miles west of the city of Saginaw. The surrounding landscape is flat farmland threaded by the Tittabawassee, Shiawassee, and Cass Rivers, with the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge sitting to the south. RV travelers generally use Hemlock as a quiet, low-traffic base for exploring the Great Lakes Bay region, Frankenmuth, and Midland. Campground options within a short drive include Lake of Dreams Campground and River Ridge Campground, both oriented toward family RV stays, along with Just In Time Campground for smaller-park bookings. The Saginaw County Fairgrounds offers seasonal event-style RV camping, and Chesaning Show Boat Campground provides riverside sites along the Shiawassee River in nearby Chesaning. Most private parks in the area take full-hookup rigs and are open roughly from May through mid-October. Michigan state park campgrounds within about an hour, such as Bay City State Park on Saginaw Bay, expand the options during the main season.

Private parks in the Hemlock area, including Lake of Dreams Campground, River Ridge Campground, Just In Time Campground, and Chesaning Show Boat Campground, take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. The Saginaw County Fairgrounds handles camping around scheduled events and should be contacted directly for availability. Michigan state park campgrounds within driving range, such as Bay City State Park, are booked through the Michigan DNR reservation system at midnrreservations.com. The booking window opens six months before the arrival date at 8 a.m. Eastern, and every vehicle entering a state park needs a Recreation Passport.
