Campgrounds and RV parks near Pleasant Hill, MS

Pleasant Hill is an unincorporated community in DeSoto County, Mississippi, sitting just east of Arkabutla Lake and roughly nine miles southwest of Hernando. It falls within the Memphis metropolitan area, which puts a full range of urban attractions, grocery, and RV services within a short drive north across the Tennessee state line. RV travelers have two distinct styles of campground within easy reach. Private parks cluster around the Memphis suburbs of Southaven and Horn Lake and along the Elvis Presley Boulevard corridor, offering full hookups, pull-through sites, and paved interior roads. Options in this group include EZ Daze RV Park, Southaven RV Park, Elvis Presley Blvd RV Park, Memphis Graceland RV Park and Campground, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Memphis. For lake-based camping, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates multiple campgrounds directly on Arkabutla Lake, a Coldwater River flood-control reservoir in the hills of northwest Mississippi. These sites emphasize water access, wooded shorelines, and hunting-area proximity rather than resort amenities.

Corps of Engineers campgrounds at Arkabutla Lake, including Hernando Point, South Abutment, and Dub Patton, are reserved through Recreation.gov. Reservations typically open several months in advance, and popular waterfront sites for summer holiday weekends often sell out as soon as the booking window opens. Pleasant Hill and Kelly's Crossing tent areas have also been added to the reservation system. Cancellation and change fees apply, and no-shows are penalized. Private parks such as EZ Daze RV Park, Southaven RV Park, Elvis Presley Blvd RV Park, Memphis Graceland RV Park and Campground, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Memphis are booked directly through each park's website or phone line. For events tied to Memphis, including Elvis Week in August, book the Graceland-area parks well in advance.
