Campgrounds and RV parks near Bel-Nor, MO

The Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, the free St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and the City Museum are all within a short drive from Bel-Nor. Guests staying at DraftKings at Casino Queen RV Park or Cahokia RV Parque can reach the Arch grounds by MetroLink light rail across the Eads Bridge, avoiding downtown parking. Across the river on the Illinois side, Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site preserves a UNESCO World Heritage pre-Columbian city and is minutes from the East St. Louis parks. To the west, Sundermeier RV Park sits adjacent to Katy Trail State Park, giving direct access to hundreds of miles of rail-trail riding along the Missouri River and to the historic brick streets of downtown St. Charles.

St. Louis has a humid continental to humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Spring is the wettest and most unstable season, with frequent thunderstorms, and the metro sits just east of the heart of Tornado Alley, so travelers should follow local warnings closely from March through May. Summers are hot and muggy, with July highs averaging near 89°F and multi-day stretches in the upper 90s. Afternoon storms continue but taper as summer progresses. This is peak season for the commercial RV parks near the Arch and for Cardinals baseball, so weekends fill early. Fall brings drier air, cooler nights, and generally the most comfortable RV weather from mid-September through October. Winters are cold, with January averaging near freezing and occasional snow and ice storms. Most metro-area private parks stay open year-round with electric hookups, but water service at many Missouri State Parks is turned off during the off-season from November through March, so cold-weather campers should confirm hookup availability before booking.

The closest RV parks are urban and highway-adjacent rather than wooded destination campgrounds. Sites at Sundermeier RV Park are level concrete pads with full hookups, 30 and 50 amp service, cable, and free Wi-Fi, with pull-throughs sized for larger rigs. Guests report noise from a nearby elevated rail trestle and from Lambert Airport flight paths, both common across the St. Louis parks. The Illinois-side parks put guests within a short ride of the downtown St. Louis riverfront, casino entertainment, and the MetroLink system. The KOA Journey and Safari RV Park skew toward overnight travelers along the I-270 corridor, with easier big-rig access but limited on-site recreation. For a more traditional outdoor experience, Missouri State Parks such as Babler Memorial and Cuivre River sit within roughly an hour's drive and offer basic, electric, and full-hookup sites in forested settings.
