Big Sandy sits on Montana's Hi-Line in the north-central prairie between the Bear Paw Mountains to the south and the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument to the southeast. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers exploring roughly 377,000 acres of BLM public land along the Wild and Scenic Missouri River, plus the rustic camping and lakes of the Bear Paws.
