Camping near Corfu, New York
Corfu is a small village in Genesee County in western New York, roughly twenty miles east of Buffalo and a short drive from the Thruway (I-90) at Exit 48A. The area works well as an RV base for families combining theme-park visits, state-park nature time, and day trips to Niagara Falls or the Finger Lakes.
The closest major camping option is Darien Lakes State Park, a 1,845-acre state park in western Genesee County near Darien Center, which operates primarily as a campground with 154 campsites, the majority with electrical hookups. Private options sit right beside the Six Flags Darien Lake complex, including Cherry Hill Campground, located directly across from Darien Lake Theme Park, with 50 spacious sites on 63 acres, lean-tos, cabins, and clean restrooms with free hot showers, and the resort-style Darien Lake Campground on theme-park property.
Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground and Skyline RV and Camping Resort round out the nearby choices, giving travelers a mix of state-park quiet, private campgrounds, and family-focused resorts within a short drive of Corfu.
Things to do near Corfu
The main family draw is Six Flags Darien Lake, an amusement park and concert venue adjacent to both Darien Lake Campground and Cherry Hill Campground. Concert nights at the Performing Arts Center regularly fill area sites, so RV travelers targeting a show should book well ahead.
Darien Lakes State Park offers low-key outdoor recreation without leaving the immediate area. Activities include biking, basketball, disc golf, horseback riding, fishing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, and wintertime snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. The terrain is hilly with woodlands, ravines, streams, and 12-acre Harlow Lake, and the park has heated comfort stations, a beach, playgrounds, a bridle path, and a rustic bridge over the lake channel to Picnic Island.
Niagara Falls State Park sits about an hour west, and Letchworth State Park lies to the south, making Corfu a practical midpoint for a multi-park itinerary.

Western New York has four distinct seasons, and camping demand near Corfu is tightly tied to the Six Flags Darien Lake operating calendar and school breaks. Peak season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with the busiest weekends around Independence Day, major concerts, and back-to-school in late August. Reserve early for these dates; state-park sites and private resort sites both fill weeks in advance.
Spring and fall are quieter shoulder seasons with cool nights and variable rain. Darien Lakes State Park's campground typically operates from mid-May through mid-October, matching the general warm-weather use pattern for the region. Fall foliage usually peaks in early to mid-October and pairs well with day trips to Letchworth.
Winter shifts the park to trail use. In winter, multiple-use trails are open for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Lake-effect snow off Lake Erie can be heavy, and most private campgrounds close for the season, so winter RV travel to the area is limited.

How to book campgrounds near Corfu
For Darien Lakes State Park, book through the New York State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Reservations can be made online or by phone at 1-800-456-2267, and walk-ins are permitted on campsites only. Campsite reservations can be made up to nine months in advance, and same-day bookings are accepted online until 3 p.m. on the arrival date. There is a two-night minimum stay, and reservation holders must be at least 18.
Private campgrounds each use their own systems. Cherry Hill Campground books through Campspot and Hipcamp, and a cash site security deposit is collected at check-in and returned at check-out if the site is left clean and undamaged. Darien Lake Campground reservations run through the Six Flags Darien Lake lodging site. For peak summer weekends and concert dates, book two to three months out at minimum.
What to expect on the ground
Sites near Corfu range from wooded and rustic to full-hookup resort-style. Cherry Hill Campground is a traditional, back-to-basics operation with RV sites, lean-tos, and tent sites spread across 63 acres, free hot showers and flush toilets, horseshoe pits, volleyball, tether ball, and a pond for catch-and-release fishing. Note that Cherry Hill's RV and tent sites are not equipped with water, electric, or sewer hookups, though shared water and a dump station are available on the grounds.
State-park camping is simpler. Darien Lakes State Park has 154 campsites, 141 with electricity and 13 primitive sites without, plus heated comfort stations and showers, a beach, and playgrounds. There are no water or sewer hookups at individual sites, and a dump station is on site.
Pets are welcome at the state park with standard rules. A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day-use areas, pets must be supervised and either crated or on a leash of no more than 6 feet, and current proof of rabies inoculation is required at check-in.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Corfu, NY
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Corfu, NY?
An RV rental in Corfu is one of the more affordable ways to enjoy Western New York, especially compared to hotel rates near Six Flags Darien Lake. On RVezy, towable trailers near Corfu average around $125 per night, while motorhomes typically run $200 to $250 per night, with many hosts offering 10 to 20 percent off for weekly bookings. For a cheap RV rental in Corfu, target shoulder season trips in May or September, use the price filter, and consider a travel trailer if you already have a tow vehicle. Pro tip: weekends overlapping Darien Lake concerts book first, so locking in dates 6 to 8 weeks ahead almost always means a better rate.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Corfu,%20New%20YorkWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Corfu, NY?
Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Corfu. There is no special RV endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required for the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, and travel trailers available on RVezy. You must be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so there is no paperwork hassle at pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. Then it is just signing the rental agreement with your host before they walk you through the rig.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs protection included with my Corfu RV rental?
Yes, every RV rental in Corfu booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. The protection plan covers eligible physical damage to the RV, so you can relax and enjoy your Darien Lake or Letchworth getaway with confidence. During checkout you choose the coverage level that fits your comfort, from standard to premium options, each with different deductibles and benefits. Pro tip: if you are new to RVing, the higher-tier protection is a small upgrade that often pays for itself the first time you tap a low-hanging branch at a wooded site.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Corfu RV rental?
You can book your Corfu RV trip with confidence. RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform-wide (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking so you are not locked in the moment you click confirm. Refund eligibility after that depends on how close you are to your trip start date and special circumstances such as severe weather. Because the policy applies across all listings, you do not have to compare fine print between RVs. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit so your trip plans stay protected. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Darien Lake weekend rates, knowing the grace period gives you a built-in safety net.

Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Corfu is easy to find. Flip on the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see hosts who welcome dogs and other pets aboard. Your four-legged co-pilot will love it here too: Darien Lakes State Park allows pets at campsites with a current rabies certificate, and there are shaded woodland trails around the park's small lake. Most local hosts ask that pets be supervised inside the RV and not left unattended. Pro tip: pack your dog's vaccination records before you leave home, as park staff can ask to see them at check-in.
parks.ny.gov/parks/darienlakes/details.aspxCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Corfu, NY?
Yes, RV delivery in Corfu is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for guests heading to Six Flags Darien Lake Hotel and Campground or Darien Lakes State Park off Exit 48A of the New York State Thruway. Many local hosts will drop the RV at your campsite, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through the systems so you can start your trip relaxed. Use the Delivery filter when searching, then message the host to confirm the destination and fee, which is typically based on mileage from their location. Pro tip: delivery is a game-changer for first-time renters who would rather skip towing or driving a big rig on I-90.
thruway.ny.gov/travelers/interchanges/index.htmlHow far can I drive on a Corfu, NY RV trip?

Niagara Falls State Park is about 45 miles (1 hour) northwest, Letchworth State Park is roughly 40 miles (1 hour) south, Buffalo is 30 miles (35 minutes) west, Rochester is 50 miles (1 hour) east, and the Finger Lakes wine country around Canandaigua is about 70 miles (1.5 hours) southeast. Some RVezy hosts offer rentals with unlimited mileage, while others include a generous daily allowance plus a small per-mile fee after that. Six Flags Darien Lake Hotel and Campground (9993 Allegheny Road) packs hundreds of sites right next to the theme park. newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/darien-lakes-state-park/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NY&parkId=386When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Corfu, NY?
The sweet spot for a Corfu RV trip runs from mid-May through mid-October, lining up with Darien Lakes State Park's camping season. June through August is peak summer with daytime highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit and warm enough evenings for campfires, plus Darien Lake concert and waterpark season. September brings cooler 60s and 70s, fewer crowds, and the first hints of Western New York fall color. Winters here are cold and snowy thanks to lake-effect storms off Lake Erie, so most local RVs come off the market by late October. Pro tip: book early June for the best balance of warm weather and lighter crowds.
weather.gov/buf/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one around Corfu?
You are going to do great, and Corfu is one of the friendlier places to learn. Most first-time renters pick up the basics during the host's walkthrough at pickup, which covers driving, leveling, hookups, propane, and the waste tanks. Roads around Corfu are flat, rural, and well-marked, with Route 77 and the New York State Thruway (I-90) handling most of the traffic to Darien Lake. If you would rather skip driving entirely, choose a host who offers delivery and setup so the RV is parked and powered when you arrive. Pro tip: message your host before booking with any questions, as experienced RVezy hosts genuinely enjoy helping a first time renting an RV go smoothly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?
You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Corfu booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Route 77 or a dead battery at Darien Lakes State Park is a phone call away from help. Your host is also your direct line for questions about quirks of their specific rig, like how the awning retracts or where the freshwater fill is. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip if anything bigger comes up. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone contacts before you pull out of the pickup spot.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Corfu RV rental into Canada or another state?
Yes, many hosts allow cross-border and interstate travel from Corfu, which sits about 40 miles from the Peace Bridge crossing into Ontario, Canada. A popular RV road trip from Corfu heads west to Niagara Falls and into Niagara-on-the-Lake, while other guests head east into Pennsylvania, Vermont, or down to the Adirondacks. Travel into Canada or other US states must be approved by your host in advance because it can affect insurance coverage, so message them before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: bring a passport or enhanced driver's license if Canada is on your itinerary, and share your full route with your host so they can confirm coverage works for it.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Corfu, NY RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost on any motorhome rental in Corfu, but it is easy to plan for. Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon (mpg), Class B campervans 15 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle's efficiency. New York State gas prices in the Buffalo and Genesee County area have recently averaged around $3.20 to $3.70 per gallon, with diesel slightly higher. For a 4-night loop covering Niagara Falls, Letchworth, and Darien Lakes (about 250 miles), budget roughly $90 to $130 in gas for a Class C. Pro tip: fuel up at the Pilot Travel Center off Exit 48A on the Thruway, it is RV-friendly with high canopies and easy pull-through pumps.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Corfu, NY?
For peace of mind, book your campsite as soon as your RV rental in Corfu is confirmed, especially for summer weekends. Darien Lakes State Park accepts reservations up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and the most popular sites for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Darien Lake concert weekends sell out months ahead. Six Flags Darien Lake Hotel and Campground books directly through its own site and fills up just as quickly. Pro tip: the 9-month rolling release means a date like July 4th opens for booking on October 4th of the prior year, so set a calendar alert.
newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/darien-lakes-state-park/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NY&parkId=386What are the local driving conditions like around Corfu, NY?
Driving an RV around Corfu is refreshingly straightforward. The area is flat farmland with wide rural roads, and the New York State Thruway (I-90) runs just south of town, with Exit 48A (Pembroke) dropping you onto Route 77 right toward Darien Lake. Summer traffic spikes on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings around concert nights, so plan pickup and drop-off mid-day if you can. Winter brings lake-effect snow off Lake Erie that can drop visibility quickly, which is one reason most RVezy hosts here operate May through October. Pro tip: check 511NY before any long stretch, especially when traveling east toward Rochester or south toward Letchworth State Park's hillier terrain.
511ny.org/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Corfu, NY?
Local campgrounds make RV life easy. Darien Lakes State Park offers electric sites (most with 30-amp service, some 50-amp), heated comfort stations, hot showers, potable water fill points, and a dump station on site. Six Flags Darien Lake Hotel and Campground has full hookups at many of its sites plus a pool and theme park access. Several private campgrounds in Genesee County provide potable water and a dump station for guests. If you need to dump or fill up mid-trip, the Darien Lakes State Park dump station is the most reliable option in the immediate area. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot freshwater hose and a 30-to-50 amp adapter so you are ready for any site configuration near Corfu.
parks.ny.gov/parks/darienlakes/details.aspxWhat's inside the RVs I can rent in Corfu, NY?
You will be impressed by how home-like a campervan rental in Corfu can be. Most RVezy rentals here come stocked with a queen or full bed, bunk options in larger family rigs, a kitchen with a stove, sink, microwave, and fridge, a private bathroom with shower and toilet, a dinette that converts to extra sleeping space, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelted travel seats. Many include a TV, and some hosts add a generator and Wi-Fi hotspot. Listings show sleep counts, so you can filter for a family RV trip in Corfu that fits your crew. Pro tip: message the host to confirm whether linens, kitchenware, and outdoor chairs are included or available as add-ons.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Corfu,%20New%20YorkWhat add-ons and pickup options do RVezy hosts in Corfu offer?
Helpful extras make your trip easier. Common add-ons from hosts offering RV rental in New York include camp chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, generators, propane fire pits, bike racks, and pet kits, typically priced anywhere from $25 to $150 per trip. Pickup is usually at the host's home or storage lot near Corfu, Batavia, or the Buffalo suburbs, with delivery to Darien Lake or Letchworth available from many hosts for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies vary: some hosts offer unlimited mileage for local trips, while others include 100 to 150 miles per day and charge a modest overage. Pro tip: bundle add-ons during booking so everything is set up and waiting when you arrive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Corfu,%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy's platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, so your transaction is protected end-to-end. A refundable security deposit is held or authorized separately from your booking payment, typically ranging from $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value, and it is released after drop-off if the rig comes back in the condition it left in. To avoid issues, take date-stamped photos and a short video of the RV's interior and exterior at pickup and again at return, with your host present. Pro tip: keep the gas tank, propane, and waste tanks at the levels specified in your booking to sail through return inspection.
