Campgrounds and RV parks near Silver Creek, NY

Silver Creek sits on the southern shore of Lake Erie in Chautauqua County, roughly halfway between Buffalo and Dunkirk. The area gives RV travelers direct access to the lake beaches, the Chautauqua Wine Trail, and the surrounding grape belt farmland. Two New York State Parks anchor the local camping options: Evangola State Park to the north and Lake Erie State Park to the south. Evangola State Park sits via Route 5, 27 miles south of Buffalo city center, with a campground address of 110 Evangola State Park Road, Irving, NY 14081. The park features swimming, several picnic shelters, a banquet room, grassy picnic areas, baseball diamond, basketball and tennis courts, 80 campsites, 6 yurts, a cabin and a nature center. Lake Erie State Park is located on the Lake Erie shoreline in Chautauqua County, less than ten miles from Dunkirk to the east and Westfield to the west. Beyond the state parks, private options include Firemans Fraternity Campground and Pleasant Beach Campground for RV travelers who want smaller, community-style grounds. Cross-border trippers can also reach Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores in Ontario, a lakefront resort north of the Peace Bridge crossing.

Both state park campgrounds use the New York State Parks reservation system. Reservations can be made online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center: 1-800-456-2267. Walk-ins are permitted on campsites only. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone, up to nine months in advance. Same-day reservations are permitted only until 3pm. The Evangola campground has three loops with different electrical options, so specify whether you need 30-amp service, 50-amp service, or a tent site when booking. During peak summer months, especially weekends, the campground fills quickly. Lake Erie State Park offers 81 electric sites ranging from 15 to 50 amps. Check the site details for specific amperage. Loop 085-097 is a non-electric loop. Private campgrounds such as Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores, Firemans Fraternity Campground, and Pleasant Beach Campground book directly through the operator.
