Campgrounds and RV parks near Bethlehem, NC

Bethlehem is an unincorporated community in Alexander County, sitting on the north shore of Lake Hickory in the western North Carolina foothills. The area serves as a practical base for RV travelers, combining lake access with quick reach to Interstate 40, Hickory, and the Blue Ridge escarpment to the west. Campgrounds cluster in several directions from Bethlehem. To the south and southwest, Indian Springs Campground sits along the Henry River just off I-40 near Hickory, and 321 RV Park operates a full-hookup property in the same corridor. Green Mountain Park and Hiddenite Family Campground lie to the east near the South Yadkin River and the Brushy Mountains, and Moravian Falls Family Campground and Cabin Rentals is set in the Brushy Mountain foothills near Wilkesboro. Most private parks in the area are small, family-run operations with full hookups oriented toward RVs. State-park camping is available within a short drive, adding options for tent campers and travelers who prefer public land.

Private parks near Bethlehem generally take reservations directly. Indian Springs Campground is a small, family-owned park with a limited number of sites, gated entry, and no on-site bathhouse, so it accepts self-contained RVs only and travelers should call ahead to confirm availability and gate access. 321 RV Park, Green Mountain Park, Hiddenite Family Campground, and Moravian Falls Family Campground and Cabin Rentals all handle reservations directly through their own phone lines or websites. For state park sites, North Carolina uses the ReserveAmerica system, and reservations at South Mountains State Park can be made for the same day and up to six months in advance, with cancellations handled by calling ReserveAmerica. Summer weekends and October foliage weekends fill first, so book prime dates well ahead and check mid-week for last-minute openings.
