Campgrounds and RV parks near Dana, NC

Dana is an unincorporated community in Henderson County, North Carolina, sitting in the Blue Ridge foothills a few miles east of Hendersonville. Elevation runs around 2,100 feet, which keeps summers noticeably cooler than the Piedmont and gives the area a long shoulder season for RV travel. The surrounding county is dense with private RV parks and travel parks that cater to Blue Ridge Parkway traffic, apple-country visitors, and Asheville day-trippers. RV renters based near Dana can reach Red Gates Cottages and RV Park, Lakewood RV Resort, Blue Ridge Travel Park, Park Place RV Park, and Lazy Boy Travel Park within a short drive. Most parks in this pocket of the county are small, family-run operations with full or partial hookups rather than resort-scale destinations. Public-land camping is not on-site. DuPont State Recreational Forest, a major regional draw, does not allow camping inside the forest, so overnight RV stays are handled by nearby private parks. Pisgah National Forest campgrounds sit farther west toward Brevard and Asheville.

Private RV parks around Dana handle their own reservations directly, either by phone or through their websites. There is no central reservation portal for parks such as Red Gates Cottages and RV Park, Lakewood RV Resort, Blue Ridge Travel Park, Park Place RV Park, or Lazy Boy Travel Park, so booking each one means contacting it separately. Confirm rig-length limits, hookup amps, and pull-through availability before locking in a rental. For public-land alternatives, North Carolina State Parks use the state's online reservation system, and Pisgah National Forest campgrounds are booked through Recreation.gov. Both systems allow reservations several months in advance and are worth checking early for summer and October weekends.
