Camping near Trinity, North Carolina
Trinity sits in Randolph County in the central Piedmont of North Carolina, roughly midway between Greensboro and Asheboro and a short drive from High Point. The area suits RV travelers who want quick access to the North Carolina Zoo, the Uwharrie region, and the Triad's shopping and dining, without booking inside a busy metro.
Campground options within about a 30-mile radius range from a large public park on a lake to family-run private resorts. Oak Hollow Campground, run by the City of High Point, sits inside a 1,550-acre park on Oak Hollow Lake and offers just over 100 full-hookup RV sites plus 13 tent platforms. Holly Bluff Family Campground and Deep River Campground And RV Park are long-running private parks on the south side toward Asheboro.
For families, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Asheboro is the closest themed resort, and Greensboro KOA Journey serves travelers who prefer an easy-on, easy-off interstate stop near I-40 and I-85.
Things to do near Trinity
The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro is the region's headline attraction and one of the largest natural-habitat zoos in the country, reachable in under 30 minutes from most Trinity-area campgrounds. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Asheboro sits only a short drive from the zoo entrance.
On-water recreation centers on Oak Hollow Lake, where Oak Hollow Campground guests can fish from the bank, with an adjacent golf course, marina, and tennis center within the same city park. Holly Bluff Family Campground borders the Uwharrie River with nature trails, mini-golf, and a seasonal pool.
Further afield, Uwharrie National Forest offers hiking and off-road trails, and Greensboro adds museums, the Greensboro Science Center, and Guilford Courthouse National Military Park.

The Trinity area has four distinct seasons with hot, humid summers and mild winters, which makes spring and fall the most comfortable windows for RV travel. April through early June and mid-September through October typically bring the most temperate weather and good conditions for zoo visits and hiking.
Summer is peak season for family campgrounds. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Asheboro runs themed weekends and daily activities through the summer, and pools at Oak Hollow Campground and Holly Bluff Family Campground operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Expect afternoon thunderstorms and high humidity in July and August, when July is typically the wettest month.
Winter stays are possible because Oak Hollow Campground and Greensboro KOA Journey remain open year-round, but seasonal amenities like pools shut down and freezing nights are common. Furniture Market weeks in High Point in spring and fall drive heavy demand at Oak Hollow Campground, so plan around those dates.

How to book
Reservation systems vary by property. Oak Hollow Campground takes online reservations 24 hours a day through Campspot, or by phone during office hours from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and holds several sites on a first-come, first-served basis for same-day arrivals. Greensboro KOA Journey books through the KOA website or its national reservation line, with a 2 p.m. check-in and 11 a.m. check-out.
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Asheboro reserves through the Jellystone Park site. Deep River Campground And RV Park and Holly Bluff Family Campground take reservations by phone; confirm accepted payment methods with Holly Bluff when booking, as policies at smaller family parks can change.
What to expect on-site
Most RV-friendly parks in the Trinity area offer full hookups with a mix of 30- and 50-amp service, and on-site bathhouses. Oak Hollow Campground has 103 full-hookup RV sites and 13 tent platforms with water, sewer, and Wi-Fi throughout the loops, and pads are generally sloped, so leveling blocks are useful.
Big-rig access is generally good. Greensboro KOA Journey lists a 65-foot maximum pull-through length with 50-amp service, and Holly Bluff Family Campground reports accepting rigs up to about 45 feet with three-way hookups.
Quiet hours, gate closures, and check-in cut-offs are common. Oak Hollow closes its entrance gate from 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and requires check-in by 7:30 p.m., with quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., while Greensboro KOA Journey runs quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

heartofnorthcarolina.com/things-to-do/city/TrinityDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Trinity, NC?
Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Trinity, NC. North Carolina does not require a Commercial Driver License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for recreational vehicles, so a standard Class C license covers virtually every motorhome and travel trailer on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older and verify your ID through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country auto club before you fly, and you're set. First time renting an RV? Your host will walk you through every system at pickup, so you'll feel confident before pulling away.
ncdot.gov/dmv/license-id/driver-licenses/commercial/Pages/default.aspxIs RV rental in Trinity, NC covered by insurance and protection?
Yes, every RV rental in Trinity booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, giving you peace of mind without worrying about an unexpected repair bill. During checkout, you (not the host) choose your protection level, so you can pick the coverage that matches your comfort level. It is built specifically for peer-to-peer RV rentals. Translation: you can focus on planning your route to the NC Zoo or Uwharrie National Forest, not on what-ifs.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat if I need to cancel my Trinity RV rental?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, so the terms are consistent across every listing in Trinity. Refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date, and special considerations can apply for events like natural disasters or hurricane warnings, which the Piedmont occasionally sees in late summer. Because the policy is standardized, you do not have to compare fine print from host to host. Pro tip: book early to secure the rig you want for popular Trinity weekends like NC Zoo spring break or High Point Furniture Market, then relax knowing the cancellation terms are clearly defined.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV trip from Trinity, NC?
Absolutely, and there are plenty of pet-friendly RV rental Trinity options to choose from. On RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you will see every host in the Trinity and High Point area who welcomes four-legged co-pilots. Once you have your rig, North Carolina is a dream for dog owners: every NC state park, including nearby Morrow Mountain and Pilot Mountain, welcomes leashed pets (6-foot maximum leash) on trails and at campsites. Deep River Campground in Asheboro is especially popular with dog owners for its riverside trails. Pro tip: message your host before booking to confirm any pet fee and shedding rules so check-out is smooth.
ncparks.gov/Can the RV be delivered to my campground or home in Trinity, NC?
Yes, RV delivery Trinity is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig through Piedmont traffic. Many local hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome rental Trinity right at your campsite, like Deep River Campground in Asheboro, Oak Hollow Campground in High Point, or Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden, or even at your own driveway for a tailgate weekend. Just use the Delivery filter when searching, and you'll see who offers it along with their per-mile delivery fee. Pro tip: delivery turns the RV into a turnkey cabin on wheels, so you can show up with groceries and a cooler and start relaxing.
highpointnc.gov/411/Oak-Hollow-CampgroundHow far can I drive on an RV trip from Trinity, NC?
Trinity sits in the center of North Carolina, which makes it a fantastic launchpad for an RV road trip from Trinity to nearly any corner of the state. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Asheville are about 175 miles west (roughly 3 hours), the Outer Banks at Cape Hatteras are around 300 miles east (about 6 hours), Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about 230 miles west, and Wilmington's beaches are around 200 miles southeast. Most RVezy hosts include a generous daily mileage allowance, and some even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: check the mileage policy on the listing page before booking, and message the host if you are planning a long loop. They often work with you on extra miles.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Trinity%2C%20North%20CarolinaWhere are the best campgrounds near Trinity, NC for RV camping?
You are spoiled for choice with RV camping Trinity options. Oak Hollow Campground in High Point (about 8 miles north) sits on a 1,500-acre lake with full hookups and a marina. Deep River Campground in Asheboro (about 20 miles south) is a quiet, pet-friendly favorite tucked between a lake and the Deep River. Zooland Family Campground, just minutes from the North Carolina Zoo, is great for families. Hagan-Stone Park in Pleasant Garden offers electric and water hookups with hiking trails and a pool. For a more rustic feel, Badin Lake Campground in Uwharrie National Forest is about 45 minutes south. Pro tip: weekends from April through October book up fast, so reserve 2 to 3 months ahead.
highpointnc.gov/411/Oak-Hollow-CampgroundWhen is the best time of year for a Trinity, NC RV trip?
Trinity's central Piedmont climate makes RV season unusually long: April through early November is the sweet spot, with mild days, low humidity in spring and fall, and most campgrounds fully open. Spring (April to May) brings highs in the 70s and dogwood blooms, fall (late September to early November) delivers crisp 60s to 70s and brilliant leaf color in the nearby Uwharrie Mountains, and summer averages mid 80s with warm nights perfect for campfires. Winter is mild enough (40s to 50s daytime) that many hosts rent year-round. Pro tip: October is the local insider's pick, the NC State Fair runs in Raleigh, leaves peak in the Uwharries, and campground crowds thin out dramatically.
weather.gov/rah/I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
Yes, first time renting an RV in Trinity is genuinely easier than people expect, and RVezy is built around helping new renters succeed. Every host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, hookups, the water system, propane, and the awning, so you leave knowing how every system works. You can message your host anytime during the trip with questions, and RVezy customer support plus 24/7 roadside assistance are a phone call away. Pro tip: start small. A 25-foot Class C or a travel trailer is plenty for a first trip from Trinity to Hagan-Stone Park or Oak Hollow Campground, both under 20 miles away with easy roads and gentle terrain.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so whether you get a flat tire on US-311, run into a battery issue at Badin Lake, or need a tow back toward Trinity, help is one call away. For mechanical questions or how-to moments (like resetting the generator), you can also message your host directly. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after every trip to help resolve anything that comes up. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you pull out of the driveway, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate. It speeds up any service call.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Trinity RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Interstate travel is welcome on most RVezy rentals from Trinity, and it is part of what makes the area so fun. You can be in Virginia in under 2 hours, Tennessee in about 4, or South Carolina in around 2 hours. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and protection plan, so message the owner before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there. Popular interstate routes from Trinity include Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, Charleston's coast in South Carolina, and the Great Smoky Mountains spanning NC and Tennessee. Pro tip: discuss your full itinerary with your host up front so everyone is aligned.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Trinity RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, so plan ahead and you'll be fine. Class C motorhomes around Trinity average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans get 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 MPG when towing). North Carolina gas prices tend to run a bit below the national average, with diesel widely available at truck-friendly stations along I-85 and US-311. For a 4-night trip with 400 miles of driving in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $200 for fuel. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app and fill up at Sheetz or Costco in Greensboro before heading west toward the mountains, prices climb quickly past Winston-Salem.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Trinity?
For the best campgrounds near Trinity, book 2 to 3 months ahead for summer weekends and holiday periods like Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. North Carolina state parks (think Morrow Mountain and Pilot Mountain) take reservations up to 11 months in advance through the official NC State Parks reservation system, and popular RV sites genuinely fill that early. Private parks like Deep River Campground and Zooland Family Campground near Asheboro book through their own websites and tend to have a bit more flexibility on shorter notice. For shoulder season midweek stays (think Tuesday to Thursday in late September), you can often snag a spot a week out. Pro tip: set a campsite alert if your first choice is full. Cancellations happen daily.
ncparks.gov/state-parks/reservationsWhat are the local driving conditions like around Trinity, NC?
Driving conditions around Trinity are about as friendly as RV country gets. The terrain is gently rolling Piedmont (elevations 700 to 900 feet), with no mountain passes or coastal bridges to navigate locally. I-85, US-311, and NC-62 are wide, well-maintained, and easy to handle in any RV class. Watch out for the High Point area during the spring and fall Furniture Markets when truck traffic spikes, and plan to avoid I-40 through Greensboro during weekday rush hours (7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM). Summer afternoon thunderstorms can be intense but short, just pull off at a rest area if visibility drops. Pro tip: NC 511 (call or app) gives real-time road conditions before you head out.
ncdot.gov/travel-maps/highway-conditions/Pages/default.aspxWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Trinity?
Most RV parks near Trinity offer full hookups, meaning 30/50 amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at your site. Oak Hollow Campground in High Point has a dump station, potable water fill, marina, and showers. Deep River Campground and Zooland Family Campground both offer full hookups plus WiFi and laundry. State parks like Morrow Mountain (about 45 minutes south) offer electric and water sites plus a centralized dump station and bathhouses with hot showers. If you're boondocking at Uwharrie National Forest, plan to dump and refill at Oak Hollow or Hagan-Stone on your way back. Pro tip: confirm sewer hookup vs. dump-station-only when you book, and your host can show you exactly how to use them at pickup.
fs.usda.gov/recreation/recarea/?recid=48902What is inside the RVs I can rent in Trinity?
Trinity RV rentals come stocked and ready to roll. Most motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy include a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, sleeping for 4 to 8 people, climate control with air conditioning and furnace heat, and seatbelts for safe travel. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, awning, outdoor speakers, and a generator for off-grid trips to Uwharrie National Forest. WiFi is usually BYO (bring your own hotspot), though some hosts include a mobile router. Class B campervan rental Trinity options are perfect for couples wanting a smaller, fuel-efficient ride. Pro tip: each listing has a full amenities checklist. Scan it before booking to make sure your must-haves are included.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Trinity%2C%20North%20CarolinaWhat add-ons and options can I get with my Trinity RV rental?
Hosts in Trinity typically offer a menu of helpful add-ons so you can customize your family RV trip Trinity exactly how you want it. Common options include camping chairs and outdoor mats, generators, bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, bike racks, propane refills, and RV delivery to your campground. Mileage policies vary by listing, with daily allowances typically 100 to 150 miles per day and overage fees often $0.30 to $0.50 per mile (some hosts offer unlimited mileage for an upfront fee). Pickup and dropoff usually happen at the host's home in the Trinity, Archdale, or High Point area. Pro tip: bundle add-ons at booking, it is almost always cheaper than adding later.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Trinity%2C%20North%20CarolinaHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment on RVezy is simple and secure: you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card when you book, never directly to the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and released back to you after the trip, assuming the RV is returned in the same condition. Deposit amounts vary by RV and are listed clearly on each Trinity listing before you confirm. To avoid any hiccups, do a walkaround video at pickup and dropoff with your host, check the fuel and propane levels, and follow the cleaning expectations in the rental agreement. Pro tip: returning the RV with a full tank and an empty waste tank is the easiest way to get your deposit back quickly.
