Campgrounds and RV parks near Vanceboro, NC

Vanceboro sits in Craven County in eastern North Carolina, roughly 20 minutes north of New Bern in the quieter, more rural part of the coastal plain. The town works well as a low-key base for RV renters who want river access, coastal-plain forest, and easy day trips to historic New Bern, the Neuse and Trent Rivers, and the Crystal Coast beaches around Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. The area sits within a humid subtropical climate zone. New Bern has hot, muggy summers and short, mild winters, with roughly 50 to 55 inches of rain per year and temperatures that rarely drop below freezing in winter. That means long RV seasons, warm shoulder months, and enough rainfall to keep the surrounding pine and cypress lowlands green. Campgrounds near Vanceboro run from full-service resorts to smaller riverside parks. New Bern KOA Holiday, Cotton Patch Landing, Twin Lakes RV and Camping Resort, Tranters Creek Resort and Campground, and Moonlight Lake RV Park and Campground are the closest options, offering hookup sites for travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A through Class C motorhomes.
