Campgrounds and RV parks near Anna, OH

Lake Loramie is the region's main draw for on-water time. Six launch ramps provide access to the lake, and 91 docks and 54 tie-ups are available for lease. The entire lake is classified as no-wake with the exception of the designated speed zone at the west end, and water skiing and tubing are prohibited. Anglers target crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, bullheads, carp, and largemouth bass. On land, over 8 miles of hiking trails wind through the park, with portions following the historic canal towpath as part of both the Buckeye Trail and the North Country National Scenic Trail. The park also features an 18-hole disc golf course. Families staying at Wapakoneta KOA Holiday have access to a heated pool from Memorial Day to Labor Day, plus a dog walk area on site. The Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Wapakoneta is a short drive from most nearby campgrounds.

Peak camping season in the Anna area runs from Memorial Day through mid-October. Summer daytime highs typically sit in the low 80s Fahrenheit, with warm, humid nights and afternoon thunderstorms common. Weekends at Lake Loramie State Park book out early for holidays, so reserving several months ahead is wise. Spring brings variable weather and one of the wetter stretches of the year. Blue-green algae has been documented in the lake during warmer months, with posted warnings advising against contact, so families planning to swim should check current advisories. Fall is quieter, with cooler nights, lower humidity, and good conditions for hiking the towpath. Winter camping is possible but limited. Lake Loramie State Park is open year-round, and all sites require advance reservations through reserveohio.com with no walk-ins. In winter, the park offers ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling when conditions allow. Private parks along I-75 often close or reduce services from late fall through early spring, and some restrict water hookups when temperatures drop below freezing.

Terrain around Anna is flat to gently rolling farmland, which means level sites and easy driving for larger rigs. At Lake Loramie, site types include full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric; electric-only sites; and non-electric tent sites, along with ADA-compliant cedar cabins. Some campsites are wooded and shaded while others are more open with less privacy. Road access from the east involves narrow routes with frequent stop signs, so larger rigs should account for that in route planning. From I-75, take Exit 102 for State Route 119 toward Anna and Botkins, head west about 5 miles, then turn north onto State Route 362; the park entrance is approximately 2 miles ahead on the left. Cell coverage is generally strong along the I-75 corridor and adequate at Lake Loramie.
