Campgrounds and RV parks near Ansonia, OH

Ansonia is a small village in northern Darke County in west-central Ohio, sitting at the intersection of State Routes 47 and 118. The surrounding countryside is flat farmland in the Miami Valley, with a handful of private campgrounds within a short drive of the village and easy road access from Dayton, Fort Recovery, and the Indiana state line. RV renters generally base at private, family-run parks rather than public land, since Darke County has no state park campground of its own. Rossburg Acres Campground sits just off State Route 118 outside Rossburg, a short drive north of Ansonia, and is the closest full-service option, with a mix of seasonal and short-term RV sites. Fireside Resort Campground and Fireside Resort & Campground are located near Greenville, roughly ten to fifteen minutes south, while Arrowhead Campground lies further southwest near New Paris. The Graystone Ranch rounds out the local options for renters looking for a quieter rural setting. Together these parks serve as practical bases for exploring Greenville, Eldora Speedway, and the Miami Valley bike trail network.

All of the campgrounds around Ansonia are privately owned, so each park sets its own booking policy. Rossburg Acres Campground is reservations-only, taking bookings through its RoverPass reservation software, by email, or by phone, with a deposit equal to one night's camping fee required on all reservations. Fireside Resort & Campground at 6236 Shade Road in Greenville uses Campspot for online booking. Because many local parks carry a large number of seasonal residents, the pool of nightly and weekend sites is smaller than at big-box destinations. Book summer holiday weekends and race weekends at Eldora Speedway several weeks in advance, and confirm rig-length and slide-out clearances at check-in. For state park camping, the nearest option is Lake Loramie State Park to the northeast, which reserves through the Ohio State Parks online system.
