Campgrounds near Arlington, Ohio
Arlington sits in Hancock County in northwest Ohio, a short drive south of Findlay along US-68. The surrounding landscape is a mix of farm fields, small woodlots, and shallow lakes, and the area works well as a base for RV travelers exploring the I-75 corridor between Toledo and Dayton.
Campground options within roughly half an hour range from private RV resorts to a state park. Van Buren State Park completed a major campground overhaul in 2024 that added full hookups with electric, water, and sewer at all 61 sites, tied into the City of Findlay municipal water supply. Arrowhead Lake Campground and Twin Lakes Campground offer private lake-oriented settings closer to Arlington itself.
Family travelers often choose Adventure Bound Pleasant View, also listed as Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Pleasant View, which sits just off I-75 near Findlay in Van Buren. The resort features a swimming pool, an inflatable water park on the pond, mini golf, a fishing pond, a jump pad, a dog park, a train ride, playgrounds, and themed events throughout the season.
Things to do near Arlington
Outdoor activity clusters around Van Buren State Park and the small lakes north of Arlington. Four bridle trails totaling roughly 12 miles wind through the park, multi-use trails accommodate hiking and biking, and Van Buren Lake provides fishing and kayaking. Anglers target bluegill, bass, and catfish in the park lake and in the private ponds at Arrowhead Lake Campground and Twin Lakes Campground.
Families planning a resort-style stay can build days around on-site amenities at Adventure Bound Pleasant View. The signature Aqua Fun Zone inflatable water park sits on the resort pond and is open during the summer season, and putt-putt mini golf and the jump pad are included with a stay.
Off-site day trips include downtown Findlay, the Hancock Historical Museum, and the Blanchard River corridor for paddling.

Peak RV season in this part of Ohio runs from May through September, when daytime highs are warm and daylight is long. The northwest Ohio camping region receives roughly 35 inches of precipitation annually, and summer highs typically sit in the low 80s Fahrenheit. July and August book up first at family resorts, so plan several weeks ahead for holiday weekends.
Spring and fall are shoulder seasons with cooler nights and fewer crowds. Fall color in Hancock County typically peaks in mid to late October, and the hardwood stands at Van Buren hold color well into that window. Spring can bring wet ground and periodic flooding along the Blanchard River, which occasionally affects low-lying private campgrounds.
Winter camping is possible but limited. Van Buren State Park is open year-round with reservations available through ReserveOhio.com, and the renovated campground now offers full hookups. Private resorts near Findlay generally close or run reduced operations for the cold months, so confirm dates directly with the operator.
How to book a campsite
Public sites at Van Buren State Park are reserved online through ReserveOhio.com, or by phone at 866-644-6727. The park is open year-round, and Ohio State Parks typically allow reservations up to six months in advance. Weekend stays often carry a two-night minimum during the busy season, so build flexibility into travel dates if weekends are the goal.
Private campgrounds use their own systems. Adventure Bound Pleasant View, Arrowhead Lake Campground, and Twin Lakes Campground accept reservations through their own websites or by phone. For summer holiday weekends, especially July 4th and Labor Day, book eight to twelve weeks out.
Check rig-length limits before reserving. Van Buren accommodates typical travel-trailer and Class C setups, and private resorts near Findlay generally handle larger fifth-wheels and Class A coaches.
What to expect on arrival
Facilities vary sharply between the state park and the private resorts. Van Buren State Park completed a major transformation in 2024, converting all 61 campsites to full hookups with electric, water, and sewer service. The park does not have shower buildings or flush toilets, and the maximum is two vehicles per site, with a camping trailer or motorhome counting as one vehicle.
Private resorts near Findlay offer a fuller amenity set. Expect paved or gravel pads with 30 or 50 amp service, on-site laundry, showers, camp stores, and pool access at Adventure Bound Pleasant View. Cell coverage is generally strong across Hancock County, and grocery, fuel, and RV supply stops are easy to reach in Findlay.
Quiet hours, leash rules, and pet limits are enforced. Pets must be leashed and attended at all times, and most sites cap pets at two per site.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Arlington, OH
How much does an RV rental in Arlington, OH typically cost?
Good news for budget travelers: RV rental in Arlington, OH is one of the more affordable ways to explore northwest Ohio. Towable trailers average around $120 per night, while motorhomes typically run about $200 per night, and most hosts offer 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly bookings. Shoulder seasons (late April through May, and September into early October) bring lower nightly rates than peak summer, and midweek pickups are often cheaper than Friday departures. For a cheap RV rental Arlington, OH option, filter by travel trailers, message hosts about flexible pickup days, and bundle add-ons like camp chairs and bedding instead of buying them separately. Pro tip: booking 6+ weeks ahead of the July Arlington Homecoming Festival keeps prices reasonable.
visitfindlay.com/villages-and-neighborhoods/arlington/What license do I need to rent an RV in Arlington, OH?
Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Arlington, OH. Ohio does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for motorhomes or trailers used recreationally, so your standard Class D license works for everything from a Class B campervan to a 30-foot Class C motorhome. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and you'll confirm your ID through the platform during checkout in just a few minutes. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit before you arrive. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised by how simple the paperwork really is.

You can book with confidence: every RV rental in Arlington, OH on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, giving you real financial peace of mind on rural Hancock County roads or longer Ohio road trips. During checkout, you choose from several protection tiers, so you can match your coverage level to your trip (this is your choice, not the host's). Roadside assistance is included with every tier, covering things like flat tires, lockouts, and battery issues. Pro tip: walk through the RV with your host at pickup, take a few photos, and you'll have everything documented for a smooth return.

RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy for every booking, which includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates without second-guessing. After that window, refund amounts depend on how close to your trip start you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy provides a refund or travel credit so your trip plans stay protected. Cancellation details aren't shown on individual listings because the same fair policy applies platform-wide. If you're ever unsure, RVezy support can walk you through your options before you commit.

Hosts set their own pet rules (some charge a small cleaning fee, others welcome pets free), so message them directly to confirm breed or size details before booking. Once you're on the road, Hancock County is dog-friendly: Riverbend Recreation Area in Findlay has a fenced dog park along the Blanchard River, and Oakwoods Nature Preserve has leashed-pet-friendly trails just 12 miles north of Arlington. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, your dog's vaccination records, and a long lead so they can lounge outside the RV at the campsite.
hancockparks.com/Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Arlington, OH?
Yes, and it's one of the best things about renting on RVezy. Many Arlington-area hosts offer RV delivery Arlington, OH, meaning they'll tow or drive the RV directly to your campground, family member's driveway, or event location, then set up the slide-outs, hook up the utilities, and walk you through how everything works. That's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV or you'd rather skip driving a big rig on US-68 or I-75. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to find hosts who offer this. Delivery fees vary by distance, but popular drop-offs include Gilboa Quarry RV Park and nearby campgrounds in Findlay, just 10 miles north of Arlington.

You've got tons of range from Arlington, and many hosts even offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal for Ohio road trips. From Arlington, popular drives include Findlay (10 miles north), Toledo and Lake Erie (60 miles north), Columbus (75 miles south), Cedar Point in Sandusky (90 miles northeast), and Hocking Hills State Park (about 130 miles southeast). Pro tip: if you're planning a longer loop, filter for unlimited-mileage listings or message the host upfront for a custom mileage package.

Pro tip: book Van Buren State Park 6 months ahead through the Ohio State Parks reservation system, especially for summer weekends.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/van-buren-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an Arlington, OH RV trip?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for an Arlington, OH RV trip, with daytime highs ranging from the mid-70s in May and September to the mid-80s in July and August, and most state park campgrounds open from April 15 through late October. June and September are arguably the most enjoyable: warm days, cool nights in the 50s, fewer bugs, and easier campground availability. July brings the can't-miss Arlington Homecoming Festival, a two-day village celebration. Winter RVing is possible at year-round parks but expect lows in the 20s and occasional snow. Pro tip: aim for mid-September if you want fall color in nearby Hocking Hills with summer-like daytime temperatures.
weather.gov/cle/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Arlington, OH?
Yes, and Arlington is honestly one of the easier places in Ohio for first-time renting an RV. The village sits on flat farmland with wide rural roads like US-68 and State Route 103, minimal traffic, and easy back-road practice routes between Findlay and Mount Blanchard. Every host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking through driving tips, slide-outs, water systems, generator use, and dump procedures, so you won't be left guessing. You can also message hosts before booking with questions, and 24/7 roadside assistance is included on every trip. Pro tip: drive a 10-minute loop around the village after pickup to get comfortable with mirrors and turns before hitting I-75.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/drive-ohioWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?
You're covered around the clock. Every RV rental in Arlington, OH includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so if you get a flat tire, dead battery, lockout, or run out of fuel on US-68 or I-75, one phone call gets help dispatched to your location. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app for quick questions about appliances or hookups, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before you leave Arlington, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and license plate at pickup so you have everything handy if you ever need it.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Arlington, OH RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is wide-open for an RV road trip from Arlington, OH. From Arlington you're within a day's drive of Michigan (Detroit is 120 miles north), Indiana (Fort Wayne is 85 miles west), Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh is 230 miles east), and Kentucky (Cincinnati is 150 miles south). Many hosts also allow trips into Canada, but you'll want to confirm with your host in advance since insurance documentation must be set up correctly for the border. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Bring your driver's license and passport (required for Canada), and check current Customs and Border Protection requirements before you cross. Pro tip: a 4-day loop to Niagara Falls via the Lake Erie shore is a popular northeastern route.
cbp.gov/travelWhat should I budget for fuel on an Arlington, OH RV trip?
Fuel is one of the biggest line items, but it's manageable with a little planning. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans get 16 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG). Ohio gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, hovering around $3.10 to $3.60 per gallon, and you'll find competitive prices at the Marathon, Speedway, and Pilot stations along I-75 in Findlay just 10 miles north of Arlington. For a 3-day, 300-mile trip in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: download the GasBuddy app and fill up before leaving Hancock County, where prices are often lower than rural stops.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground near Arlington, OH?
Earlier is better, but you've got more flexibility here than at bigger destinations. Ohio State Parks (including Van Buren, Mary Jane Thurston, and Lake Loramie) open reservations 6 months in advance through the official Ohio State Parks reservation system, and popular summer weekends at Van Buren can fill 3 to 4 months out. Private campgrounds like Gilboa Quarry and Adventure Bound Pleasant View often have more last-minute availability, especially midweek. Holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) book fastest, so lock those in by March. Pro tip: if you're flexible on dates, Sunday-through-Thursday stays in June or September are usually wide open even a week ahead, and rates are noticeably cheaper.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/reserve-a-facilityWhat are driving conditions like around Arlington, OH?
Driving an RV around Arlington is genuinely easy. You're in flat, rural Hancock County with wide two-lane roads, light traffic, and good sightlines, which is ideal for a campervan rental Arlington or any larger motorhome. The main routes are US-68 (north-south through town), State Route 103 (east-west), and I-75 about 10 miles west, your main artery to Toledo, Dayton, and Cincinnati. Watch for slow-moving farm equipment in spring and fall, sudden summer thunderstorms with brief heavy rain, and occasional winter snow and ice from December through February. Avoid driving through downtown Findlay during the Hancock County Fair (mid-August) when traffic spikes. Pro tip: use US-23 or US-30 as scenic alternatives to I-75 for less truck traffic and easier RV cruising.
ohgo.com/What amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Arlington, OH?
You'll find a great mix. Most campgrounds near Arlington offer electric hookups (30 and 50 amp), water spigots, and on-site dump stations, with many providing full hookups (electric, water, sewer) at premium sites. Van Buren State Park has showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and electric sites; Gilboa Quarry adds swimming, a camp store, and laundry; Adventure Bound Pleasant View has a pool, playground, and Wi-Fi. For dumping and freshwater fills between trips, the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay and most Ohio State Parks offer public dump stations (small fee for non-campers). Pro tip: carry a 25-foot drinking-water hose, a sewer hose with elbow, and a surge protector, and you'll be ready for any hookup configuration in northwest Ohio.

Most listings also include a TV, propane generator for off-grid power, awning, and outdoor storage. Class B campervans are more compact but include the essentials, while Class A and Class C motorhomes offer extra living space. Many hosts include Wi-Fi hotspots, linens, and full kitchen kits as add-ons. Pro tip: check the listing's amenity icons and message the host to confirm exactly what's included before booking.

Mileage policies vary (most allow 100 to 150 free miles per day with extras available), and you'll see all fees and add-ons clearly itemized before you confirm. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a full setup package for a true zero-stress arrival.
rvezy.com/how-it-worksHow does the security deposit and payment work on RVezy?
Payments are simple and secure. When you book an RV rental in Ohio on RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit card, and your full trip cost is shown upfront (rental rate, taxes, protection, delivery, and add-ons) so there are no surprises. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment before pickup, typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV, and it's released after a smooth return with no damage or extra cleaning needed. Never pay a host outside the platform; doing so removes your protection coverage. Pro tip: do the walkthrough with your host at pickup and return and take timestamped photos of the interior and exterior to keep your deposit refund quick and painless.
