Campgrounds and RV parks near Berea, OH

Berea sits in southwest Cuyahoga County, minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and adjacent to the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. The city itself has limited in-town RV camping, so most renters base themselves at private campgrounds in the surrounding counties and use Berea as a launch point for Cleveland-area attractions. Within roughly a 40-mile radius, several developed private campgrounds serve the area. American Wilderness Campground in Grafton offers tent sites, RV hookups, and cabin rentals. Other options within about an hour include Willow Lake Park Inc, Pier-Lon Park, and Maple Lakes Campgrounds, each offering a mix of seasonal and short-stay sites. Green Valley Nudist Camp operates as a members-oriented private club with its own membership rules. Rocky River Reservation runs near Berea, with trails along the Rocky River for hiking, bird watching, and picnicking. Cuyahoga Valley National Park sits roughly 30 miles away, offering waterfalls and trails. The national park does not operate a public campground, so RV travellers rely on private grounds throughout the surrounding region.

Private campgrounds near Berea handle reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines. Grounds such as Willow Lake Park Inc, American Wilderness Campground, Pier-Lon Park, and Maple Lakes Campgrounds should be contacted several weeks ahead for holiday weekends and any dates tied to Cleveland-area events. For state parks in the wider region, Ohio uses a single centralized system. Reservations for seasonal cabins and all campsites may be made up to six months in advance by visiting reserveohio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. The call center is open from 7am to 7pm daily and is closed on some holidays. Walk-in camping is not allowed in Ohio state parks, except at Jesse Owens State Park, so travellers should plan to reserve online or by phone before arrival.
