Campgrounds and RV parks near Bradford, OH

Water recreation centers on Lake Loramie. The lake produces catches of crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, bullheads, carp, and largemouth bass, with four fishing piers in the park, two of which are ADA accessible. Water skiing and tubing are prohibited on the lake. On land, over 8 miles of hiking trails wind through the park, with portions following the historic canal towpath as part of both the Buckeye Trail and the North Country National Scenic Trail, and an 18-hole disc golf course provides additional recreation. For family-oriented private camps, Rossburg Acres Campground adds low-key activities on site. It features two ponds stocked with fish, a sandy beach with a gaga pit and sand volleyball court, plus a 9-hole putt-putt course, a pickleball court, and a frisbee golf area. Eldora Speedway in Rossburg draws large crowds on race weekends.

The main camping season in this part of Ohio runs from late April through late October. Many private campgrounds match that window: Rossburg Acres Campground, for example, typically operates from May 1 through late October. Lake Loramie State Park Campground, by contrast, is open year-round, with winter sites operating first-come, first-served. Summer is the peak. Weekends around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day fill quickly, and lakefront and full-hookup sites at Lake Loramie tend to book the earliest. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends carry a three-night minimum at Ohio state parks. Late spring and early fall offer cooler nights, fewer bugs, and easier availability. Winter camping is limited but possible at the state park, where ice fishing, sledding, and snowmobiling are offered when conditions allow. Roads can close briefly during heavy snow or flooding, so check conditions before towing an RV in the shoulder months.

Sites in this area are generally level and easy for larger rigs, set in a mix of open grass and mature shade trees. Expect farm-country surroundings, quiet nights, and short drives to small-town groceries and diners. At Lake Loramie, hookups vary by loop. The campground has 42 full-hookup sites, 4 of which are lakeside and 4 ADA compliant, plus 120 electric sites including 40 premium sites near the water that are electric only. Check-in is 3 PM for campsites and 4 PM for cabins, and park gates are open 6 AM to 11 PM daily. An on-site camp store, dump station, and filling station are located in the campground. Rules are standard for Ohio state parks: quiet hours run 10 PM to 7 AM, and pets are welcome at designated sites on leash but excluded from beaches and cabins.
