Campgrounds near Cedarville, Ohio
Cedarville sits in Greene County in southwest Ohio, roughly 25 minutes east of Dayton and about an hour west of Columbus. The area draws RV travelers for its river gorges, small-town character, and easy interstate access via I-70 and US-42. Campgrounds in the surrounding region range from state-park sites along the Little Miami River to full-hookup private resorts with pools and cabins.
The closest public option is John Bryan State Park Campground, set along the Little Miami Scenic River between Yellow Springs and Clifton. Private RV parks in the corridor include Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground, Sky Lake RV Resort, Enon Beach Campground, and Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort, giving renters a mix of wooded state-park camping and amenity-heavy resort stays.
Most sites are accessible to Class C and travel-trailer rentals, though larger Class A rigs should confirm site length and turning access before booking, particularly at older state-park loops.
Things to do near Cedarville
The main draw is the Little Miami River corridor, which cuts through John Bryan State Park and the adjacent Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. Hiking trails follow the dolomite cliffs, and the river is popular for paddling and tubing in summer. Yellow Springs, a short drive from most campgrounds, has walkable shops, breweries, and the Glen Helen Nature Preserve.
Families with kids often base a trip around Young's Jersey Dairy for ice cream and mini-golf, or head to Clifton Mill, one of the largest water-powered gristmills still standing in the country. Cyclists can pick up the paved Little Miami Scenic Trail, which runs more than 70 miles from Springfield toward the Cincinnati suburbs and passes close to Cedarville.

The prime RV season around Cedarville runs from late April through October. Spring brings wildflowers to Clifton Gorge and strong river flow for paddling, though rain is frequent and trails can be muddy. Overnight lows through March can still drop below freezing, so shoulder-season travelers should plan for cold-weather hookups and possible frost.
Summer is the busiest window. Weekends at John Bryan State Park Campground fill early, particularly around the Fourth of July and during Yellow Springs street fairs. Humidity climbs in July and August, and afternoon thunderstorms are common.
Fall is a strong choice for RV renters: cooler nights, lighter crowds, and reliable foliage color from mid-October into early November. John Bryan State Park Campground stays open year-round with an off-peak season from November through early April, while many private parks in the area close or reduce services from late fall through early spring, so confirm operating dates before booking a winter trip.

Highly recommend 15/10 rating here. Clean and ready to go upon the agreed time and extremely flexible for my rental return considering I hit a traffic jam for 4 hours. Will be renting again from him alone when my personal goes down.

How to book
John Bryan State Park Campground is reserved through the Ohio State Parks reservation system, with a booking window that opens six months ahead of the arrival date. Only a small number of electric sites are available, so popular summer weekends can sell out quickly after release. A valid credit card is required at booking.
Private parks including Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground, Sky Lake RV Resort, Enon Beach Campground, and Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort each take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Weekly and monthly stays often require a deposit, and holiday weekends may carry minimum-night requirements.
RV renters should confirm their rig's length, slide-out count, and hookup needs with the rental operator before selecting a site.
What to expect
John Bryan State Park Campground offers a mix of electric and non-electric sites with no individual sewer connections; a dump station with two service bays is on site, along with a shower house and potable water during the main season. Cell coverage is generally usable but can be uneven under the tree canopy. The campground accommodates rigs up to about 40 feet, and interior roads are paved.
Private resorts in the corridor typically offer full hookups, Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and playgrounds, with paved or gravel pads suitable for larger rigs. Some sites are seasonal-lease heavy, so transient nightly availability can be limited on weekends. Wildlife encounters are limited to deer, raccoons, and songbirds, and standard food-storage practices are sufficient.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Cedarville, OH?

Expect to pay around $120 to $160 per night for towable trailers and roughly $200 to $275 per night for motorhomes, with many hosts offering 10 to 20 percent discounts on weekly or monthly bookings. Add about $30 to $45 per night for an electric site at John Bryan State Park, and a family of four can road trip for less than the cost of two hotel rooms. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Cedarville%2C%20OhioDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Cedarville, Ohio?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Cedarville. Ohio does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for recreational vehicles used for personal, non-commercial purposes, so even a 35-foot Class A motorhome is fair game with your standard operator's license. To book on RVezy you must meet the approved driver requirements (generally age 25+), and the platform handles ID verification quickly during checkout. Visiting from outside the US? An International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home license is recommended for your Cedarville RV trip.

Every RV rental in Cedarville, OH comes with peace of mind built in. Each booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat on US-42 heading toward Yellow Springs or lose power at a campsite in John Bryan State Park, help is one phone call away. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Cedarville RV rental?
Booking is low risk. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and there is a money-back grace period right after you book so you can confirm your plans without stress. If a qualifying event impacts your trip, the support team works with you on options. Because the refund amount depends on how close to your trip start date you cancel, review the current terms on the RVezy Help Center before booking. The takeaway: locking in your RV rental in Cedarville today does not mean you are stuck if life happens.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Cedarville?
Absolutely, and your pup will love it. Many hosts list pet-friendly RV rental Cedarville options, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search. John Bryan State Park allows leashed dogs on campsites and has dog-friendly hiking trails along the Little Miami River gorge, and Glen Helen Nature Preserve in nearby Yellow Springs welcomes leashed pets on most trails. Caesar Creek State Park has a designated pet swim area as well. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees, and pack a tie-out, water bowl, and your dog's vaccination records for a smooth check-in.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/john-bryan-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Cedarville?
Yes, RV delivery Cedarville is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers. Many hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to John Bryan State Park, Buck Creek State Park, or even your driveway, level it, hook it up, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just filter for Delivery when browsing listings to see options near Cedarville. Delivery fees are set by each host and usually scale with distance, so a campground 15 minutes away will cost less than one near Hocking Hills. This is the easiest way to skip the stress of driving a big rig your first time out.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/john-bryan-state-parkHow many miles do I get with my Cedarville RV rental?
Mileage policies are set by each host, and many Cedarville listings include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips. That is plenty for local adventures: Yellow Springs is only 8 miles away, Dayton is 30 miles, Columbus sits 65 miles east, and Cincinnati is about 75 miles south. Planning a bigger loop through Hocking Hills (90 miles) or up to Lake Erie (220 miles)? Filter for unlimited-mileage rentals or message the host to negotiate a custom package. Most hosts charge $0.30 to $0.45 per extra mile, so plan your route in advance to keep the budget tight.

reserveohio.com/OhioCampWeb/When is the best time of year for a Cedarville RV trip?
Late April through mid-October is prime time for RV camping Cedarville. May through September brings warm highs in the 70s and 80s with comfortable evenings perfect for campfires, while October is the local insider favorite, when fall colors explode across the Clifton Gorge and crowds thin out. July averages 81°F with humid afternoons, so book a rig with strong air conditioning. Winters get cold (lows in the low 20s°F with occasional snow), but several hosts offer four-season RVs with heated tanks for off-season adventures. Shoulder seasons (April and October) often have the lowest nightly rates and the best campground availability.
weather.gov/iln/I have never driven an RV before. Is renting one in Cedarville hard?
First time renting an RV? Cedarville is one of the easier places to start. The roads around town are flat farmland with wide shoulders and minimal traffic, and US-42 and I-70 are straightforward highways with plenty of pull-offs. Every RVezy host gives you a walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, and waste tanks, and you can call them or RVezy support 24/7 during your trip. Choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first trip, they drive much more like an oversized van. Pro tip: do a practice loop around the Cedarville College campus area before pointing toward Yellow Springs.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/highway-safety/highway-safetyWhat happens if I break down during my Cedarville RV trip?
Take a deep breath, you are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on State Route 72, a dead battery at Buck Creek, or a tow back from Hocking Hills is one phone call away. Your host is also a great second line of support; they know their RV inside and out and can troubleshoot common issues like the water pump or generator over the phone. Save the RVezy support number and your host's contact on your phone before you leave Cedarville for total peace of mind.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat road trips can I take from Cedarville, OH?
An RV road trip from Cedarville unlocks the best of the Midwest. Yellow Springs and the Little Miami Scenic Trail are 8 miles away for a quick weekender, Hocking Hills State Park (waterfalls, caves, ziplines) is 90 miles east, and the Lake Erie islands at Sandusky sit 180 miles north for beach vibes. Cross-country adventurers love the Smoky Mountains run to Gatlinburg (370 miles south) or a Mackinac Island loop through Michigan (370 miles). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, but cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed with host approval and proper documentation, just message the host directly from the listing page to confirm.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/mapsWhat kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I plan for?
Plan smart and fuel stays a small part of your Cedarville RV trip budget. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class A rigs get 6 to 10 mpg, campervans (Class B) can hit 15 to 18 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Ohio gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and there are plenty of large fuel stations along I-70 and US-35 with easy RV access (try the Pilot in South Vienna, 12 miles north). For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $100 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up before leaving Cedarville, where prices tend to be cheaper than tourist stops.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Cedarville?
For the best campgrounds near Cedarville, book early, especially during summer. Ohio State Parks (John Bryan, Buck Creek, Caesar Creek) take reservations through ReserveOhio.com up to six months in advance, and electric sites for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends fill within hours of opening. Private parks like Sky Lake RV Resort also book up fast for summer Saturdays. Pro tip: midweek Sunday through Thursday stays often have walk-up availability even in peak season, and shoulder months (April, May, September, October) almost always have last-minute openings. Lock in your RV rental first, then snag the campsite the same day to keep dates aligned.
reserveohio.com/OhioCampWeb/What is driving an RV around Cedarville actually like?
Driving in and around Cedarville is genuinely beginner-friendly. The town sits in flat farm country between Dayton and Columbus, with low-traffic state routes like SR-72 and US-42 making local trips easy. I-70 (east-west) and I-71 (north-south) are nearby for longer hauls, and both have wide lanes and generous rest stops. Watch for height clearance under the railroad bridge on Bridge Street downtown (about 11 feet, so most Class C rigs are fine, but check your RV's height first). Winter driving can mean ice and snow from December through February, so book within the warmer months if it is your first trip. Standard speed limit for RVs over 10,000 pounds on the Ohio Turnpike is 65 mph.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/highway-safety/highway-safetyWhat amenities and hookups do campgrounds near Cedarville offer?
Most campgrounds within 30 minutes of Cedarville offer at least 30/50-amp electric hookups, potable water fill stations, and dump stations, even if individual sites are electric-only. John Bryan State Park has electric sites, a new two-station dump facility at the entrance, hot showers, and a small camp store. Sky Lake RV Resort and Camp Hugh Taylor Birch offer full hookups (water, sewer, electric) at each site. Wi-Fi is hit-or-miss at state parks (cell signal is decent for AT&T and T-Mobile), but private parks generally provide reliable internet. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank in Cedarville before heading to John Bryan, where individual sites do not have water hookups.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/john-bryan-state-parkWhat is included inside a typical Cedarville RV rental?
Your Cedarville RV rental comes ready to camp. Expect a queen or king bed, bunks or convertible dinettes (most rigs sleep 4 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control, and seatbelts for every passenger. Most motorhomes also include a TV, propane for cooking and heating, a freshwater tank, and a generator for off-grid camping. Many hosts throw in starter kits with linens, kitchen basics, outdoor chairs, and even a campfire grill. Check each listing's amenities list, and message the host about anything specific (like a portable Wi-Fi hotspot or extra toddler seatbelts) to make sure your motorhome rental Cedarville matches your trip.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/seat-beltsWhat add-ons and pickup options should I look for?
To customize your campervan rental Cedarville or motorhome trip, look for hosts offering popular add-ons like bedding packages ($25 to $50), kitchen kits, bike racks, generators, outdoor grills, and portable propane fire pits (a must where wood fires are restricted). Pickup is typically at the host's home or storage location, and many will meet you at the Greene County Fairgrounds or a local park for convenience. Drop-off times are usually flexible by 30 to 60 minutes if you message in advance. Pro tip: book a Friday afternoon pickup and Monday morning drop-off to maximize a long weekend without paying for an extra night.
greenecountyohio.gov/How does the security deposit work for a cheap RV rental in Cedarville?
Payment is simple and secure. When you book a cheap RV rental in Cedarville on RVezy, you pay through the platform (never directly to the host) using a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit, set by the host and clearly shown on the listing, is held separately from your booking payment before pickup. As long as you return the RV on time, clean, with the fuel and tanks as agreed, the hold is released after your trip. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and drop-off to keep everything smooth.
