Campgrounds and RV parks near Craig Beach, OH

Lake Milton is the local draw. The reservoir supports boating, swimming, and fishing, and a public swim beach sits within Lake Milton State Park. Anglers target walleye, bass, and crappie from shore and boat, and the shoreline is a productive area for birdwatching. West Branch State Park expands the options considerably. Visitors can traverse the park's woods and meadows by foot, bike, or horseback via miles of scenic trails, including a link to the statewide Buckeye Trail. An 18-hole disc golf course is available near the beach, and a 9-hole course can be found in the campground area. Year-round fishing at West Branch offers large and smallmouth bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and trophy-class muskellunge. Families staying at Country Acres Campground and Fun Park will find on-site activities including pools, a splash park, a jumping pillow, and paddle boats on the campground's own fishing lake.

Peak camping season around Craig Beach runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when the Lake Milton beach, private-park pools, and West Branch's swim area are all in full operation. Summer weekends fill fast at both public and private campgrounds, so reserving early is essential for lakefront or full-hookup sites. Shoulder seasons are quieter and often more pleasant for RV travel. Spring brings cool nights and steady rain, with wildflowers along the trails and active fishing on both reservoirs. Fall delivers strong hardwood color across the glaciated plateau and comfortable daytime temperatures for hiking and paddling. Winter operations are limited. From November 1 to April 1 at West Branch, Port-A-Jon service is available, the dump station is open, no potable water is available, electric sites 1-33 and group sites A, B, and C remain open, and the equestrian camp is closed. Under the proper winter conditions, park guests can enjoy cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and ice boating, and extensive snowmobile trails begin at the West Boat Ramp. The region also sees periodic lake-effect snowfall from Lake Erie, so winter RV visitors should plan for cold-weather setup and possible snow travel.

Sites near Craig Beach range from full-service private resorts to state-park loops with a mix of electric and full-hookup pads. West Branch offers full hook-up and 50-amp electric sites plus one non-electric site, with heated showers, flush toilets, laundry facilities, and a trailer dump station. Expect wooded, rolling terrain typical of northeast Ohio. Sites vary considerably in grade and privacy; some offer direct lake access for launching kayaks while others sit further inland with more tree coverage between neighbors. Bring leveling blocks and check specific site notes before booking. Pets are welcome across most parks. At West Branch, pets are permitted on all sites. Cell coverage is generally reliable near Craig Beach and both lakes.
