Campgrounds and RV parks near Creston, OH

Creston sits in northern Wayne County, Ohio, about a half-hour drive southwest of Akron and roughly an hour south of Cleveland. The village lies at the northern edge of Ohio's Amish Country, which spans parts of Holmes, Wayne, Tuscarawas, and Coshocton counties and holds the largest Amish population in the United States. The surrounding landscape is rolling farmland, small lakes, and quiet county roads, which makes the area a practical base for RV travelers who want rural scenery without long drives to services. Private campgrounds dominate the immediate area rather than large public parks. Meadow Lake Park, Maple Lakes Campgrounds, Chaffield Farm Estates, Chatham Lakes Campground, and Pier-Lon Park are the closest options, mostly small family-run properties with lake or pond access and mixed seasonal and short-stay sites. For travelers who prefer public land, Ohio's state park system operates 60 campgrounds statewide with primitive, electric, and full-service sites, and many stay open year-round with reservations handled through reserveohio.com.

Private campgrounds around Creston, including Meadow Lake Park, Maple Lakes Campgrounds, Chaffield Farm Estates, Chatham Lakes Campground, and Pier-Lon Park, each handle reservations directly. Booking windows, deposit rules, and seasonal-versus-transient site policies vary, so contact the campground before arrival, especially for holiday weekends and popular events. Campsites and unique rentals such as yurts open six months to the day before arrival, and cabins open twelve months out.
