Campgrounds and RV parks near Day Heights, OH

Water recreation anchors the area. East Fork Lake supports unlimited-horsepower boating from seven launch ramps, a 1,200-foot swimming beach, and fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, smallmouth bass, and hybrid striped bass. Stonelick Lake is better suited to kayaking, canoeing, and shoreline fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, and saugeye. On land, East Fork State Park maintains an extensive trail network, including the 33-mile Steve Newman Worldwalker Perimeter Trail used by hikers, backpackers, and horseback riders, plus shorter mountain-bike and nature loops. Stonelick State Park adds over five miles of hiking trails and a sandy swimming beach on the lake's south shore. Families traveling with an RV often pair a state-park stay with a day at Kings Island and Soak City in Mason.

Ohio State Parks camping is busiest from April through October, when full amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, and potable water are available at Stonelick State Park. Summer weekends and holidays fill quickly at East Fork State Park Campground, so early booking is recommended, especially for full-hookup and lake-view sites. Both Stonelick and East Fork remain open for camping year-round, though services scale back in colder months. Off-peak amenities can include exterior water spigots and open dump stations while some restrooms close. Water-quality advisories may be posted at the East Fork beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Spring brings the wettest stretch, with May normally the rainiest month in the Cincinnati area, averaging around 4.7 inches of rain. Fall offers cooler nights, lower humidity, and colorful hardwoods across the rolling hill country shaped by Illinoian and Wisconsinan glaciation. Winter can bring snow, freezing temperatures, and occasional lake ice, though conditions vary widely year to year.

Terrain in this corner of Clermont and Warren counties is rolling hill country shaped by past glaciation, with wooded ridges, meadows, and reservoirs rather than flat farmland. Cell coverage is generally reliable near the interstates and thinner deep inside state park loops, particularly at Stonelick. Ohio does not charge state park entrance fees. Sites at Stonelick and East Fork typically include a paved or gravel pad, picnic table, and fire ring, with electric hookups on most sites and a smaller number of full-hookup sites at East Fork. Every East Fork campsite has electric service, with 23 full-hookup sites and a shared dump station. Leashed pets are welcome at most sites, with restrictions around beaches, shower houses, and cabins. Groceries and fuel are typically 15 to 20 minutes from the park entrances.
