Campgrounds and RV parks near Dresden, OH

Dresden sits in Muskingum County along the Muskingum River, about 15 miles north of Zanesville and roughly an hour east of Columbus. The village is closely tied to the Longaberger basket-making tradition, and the World's Largest Basket, a 48-foot-long Market Basket dedicated in the 1980s, still stands at the corner of Fifth and Main Streets. A small-town Main Street, riverside parks, and proximity to Ohio's Amish country make Dresden a practical base for a short RV trip in central-eastern Ohio. Most campgrounds serving Dresden are clustered south toward Dillon Reservoir and north toward Coshocton. Dillon State Park is the closest full-service public option, with a large family campground on the reservoir. Private options nearby include Wolfies Campground, National Road Campground, Coshocton KOA Holiday, and Hidden Hill Campground, which together cover a range of hookup levels, cabin rentals, and family amenities. Rolling wooded hills, the Muskingum River corridor, and a compact town center give the area a quiet, low-traffic feel that suits families and first-time RV renters.

Dillon State Park uses the Ohio State Parks reservation system. Campsites and cabins can be booked online at reserveohio.com or by calling 1-866-644-6727, and reservations can be made up to six months in advance. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, and pets are permitted at all camp sites. Private campgrounds are booked directly. Coshocton KOA Holiday takes reservations through the KOA website and follows KOA's cancellation policy, with deposits forfeited after the cancellation deadline and no refunds on or after the arrival date. Wolfies Campground, National Road Campground, and Hidden Hill Campground handle bookings through their own websites or by phone. For summer weekends, holiday weekends, and fall-foliage dates in October, reserve well in advance. Cancellations at Dillon are common enough that checking back regularly can open up otherwise-full weekends.
