Campgrounds near Enon, Ohio
Enon sits in Clark County between Springfield and Dayton in western Ohio, close enough to the Little Miami River corridor to give RV renters access to both state-park camping and privately run RV resorts. The village lies within easy reach of I-70 and US-40, which makes rig delivery and route planning straightforward for travelers coming from Columbus, Cincinnati, or Indianapolis.
Camping options nearby fall into two categories. Enon Beach Campground and Green Valley RV Park cater to families looking for lake or pool access and full-service private sites, while Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground and Sky Lake RV Resort focus on longer stays with hookups. John Bryan State Park Campground, southwest of Enon near Yellow Springs, provides a more rustic public option along the Little Miami River gorge.
Between the mix of private resorts and one Ohio state park, most travel styles are covered: hookup-dependent motorhomes, tent-plus-trailer family setups, and small Class B or Class C rentals looking for a quiet base near Dayton attractions.
Things to do near Enon
Outdoor activity in the area centers on the Little Miami State and National Scenic River and the limestone gorge it cuts through John Bryan State Park. Hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, and shoreline fishing for smallmouth bass, rock bass, and panfish are all available inside the park, and the Little Miami Scenic Trail draws road cyclists and gravel riders. Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, adjacent to the park, adds more trail mileage along the river.
Family-focused stops include the shops and cafes of Yellow Springs, Young's Jersey Dairy north of town, and the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton. The National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB is a major rainy-day draw and is free to enter.
Swim beaches, paddling on the Little Miami River, and day trips to Clifton Mill round out a typical week.

Camping season in this part of Ohio runs mostly from mid-spring through late fall. John Bryan State Park Campground and the nearby private parks see their heaviest bookings from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when warm weather and school breaks push weekend availability tight. Reservations at the state park can be made up to six months in advance, and popular electric sites tend to book out quickly for holiday weekends.
Spring brings wildflowers through the gorge and cool, wet weather that can leave trails muddy. Summer is warm and humid with afternoon thunderstorms, but evenings cool off nicely for campfires. Early fall is often the best window for RV travel: comfortable days, cool nights, and lower campground demand once schools return.
Winter camping is limited. Many private parks close or run on reduced services, and state-park water systems are typically shut down to prevent freezing. Travelers arriving late in the year should confirm hookup availability directly with each campground.

How to book a site near Enon
Reservations for John Bryan State Park Campground go through the ReserveOhio system online or by phone at (866) 644-6727. Sites open on a rolling six-month window, so summer weekends should be locked in as early as possible. The campground has a mix of electric and non-electric sites, plus two non-reservable sites held for walk-ins.
Private parks in the area, including Enon Beach Campground, Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground, Sky Lake RV Resort, and Green Valley RV Park, take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone. Seasonal and monthly stays often need to be arranged well in advance.
RV renters should confirm site length, hookup type, and pull-through availability before finalizing a booking, especially for larger rigs.
What to expect at campgrounds near Enon
Expect a mix of semi-rustic and full-service experiences. John Bryan State Park Campground offers non-electric and electric sites, drinking water, and a camp store, with picnic tables, grills, and fire rings at each site. Pets are permitted on all sites when leashed and registered at the camp office, and each site is limited to two licensed vehicles.
Private parks near Enon tend to offer full hookups, showers, laundry, and family amenities such as pools, playgrounds, or lake swimming. Cellular service across the area is generally strong on major carriers.
Roads in and around the state park include some narrow, wooded sections, so drivers of larger motorhomes should plan approach routes carefully and check the campground map before arrival.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Enon, OH
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Enon?
RV rental in Enon is one of the most affordable ways to explore southwest Ohio, with most nightly rates falling between roughly $90 and $250 depending on the rig. A pop-up or smaller travel trailer often starts under $100 a night, a Class C motorhome typically lands in the $150 to $225 range, and a luxury Class A or fifth wheel sits at the higher end. For a cheap RV rental in Enon, look at weekday bookings in May or September and filter for trailers under 25 feet. Pro tip: many Enon area hosts offer weekly discounts of 10 to 20 percent, so a 7 night Enon RV trip can be cheaper per night than a 3 day weekend.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Enon%2C%20OhioDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Enon?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Enon. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special endorsement for personal recreational vehicles, regardless of size, so your standard license covers a Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, or even a big Class A. To book on RVezy you'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and ID verification happens right inside the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license. Most first time renters are surprised by how quick and painless the process is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my Enon RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can rent an RV in Enon with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the vehicle while you're on your trip, which is huge when you're a first time renter heading out to places like John Bryan State Park or the C.J. Brown Reservoir area. During checkout you'll choose your coverage level based on how much financial buffer you want. Hosts don't pick this for you, you do. Pro tip: upgrade if you're planning longer mileage days through Ohio's rolling hill country, where deer crossings spike at dusk.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if my plans change after I book my Enon RV rental?
Booking an RV rental in Enon is low risk because RVezy, not the host, sets the cancellation policy, and that policy includes a grace period after booking where you can cancel for a full refund. After that, your refund depends on how close you are to your trip start date. Because the policy is set at the platform level, you don't have to compare different listings to figure out who is more flexible, every Enon listing follows the same RVezy framework. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best rigs for summer weekends near C.J. Brown Reservoir, then relax knowing you have a built in safety net.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV rental in Enon?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental options in Enon are plentiful, and filtering for Pet-Friendly on RVezy will instantly narrow the listings to hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Many hosts charge a small pet fee or refundable cleaning deposit, which you'll see clearly on the listing. Enon and the surrounding Clark County area are great for four legged travelers: Buck Creek State Park allows leashed pets on hiking trails and at the cabins (pets are not allowed on the swimming beach), and Enon Beach Campground is explicitly pet friendly and even has a dog beach. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your dog's size and breed, it's a quick way to confirm fit and often unlocks insider tips on the best pet friendly trails nearby.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/buck-creek-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Enon?
Yes, RV delivery in Enon is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig. Many local hosts will deliver to Enon Beach Campground on Enon Road, John Bryan State Park, or even your driveway, set up the slide outs and awning, level the rig, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees are typically based on round trip mileage from the host's location. Pro tip: if you're nervous about driving a motorhome rental in Enon, search with the Delivery filter on and pair it with a stationary stay at Enon Beach, you'll get the full RV experience without ever sitting behind the wheel.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Enon%2C%20OhioHow does mileage work, and how far can I realistically drive from Enon?
Most hosts include a generous daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 free miles per day) with optional unlimited mileage add ons for longer trips, so an RV rental with unlimited mileage is easy to find on RVezy if you're planning to roam. Enon sits near the crossroads of I-70 and I-675, which makes day trips simple: Dayton is about 15 miles southwest, Columbus is roughly 50 miles east, Cincinnati is 75 miles south, and Hocking Hills State Park is about 110 miles east. Pro tip: if you're plotting an RV road trip from Enon to Hocking Hills or Indiana's Brown County, add the unlimited mileage package at checkout, it usually pays for itself by day three.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/mapsWhere should I stay with my RV near Enon?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Enon, with the best campgrounds all within about 20 minutes. Enon Beach Campground at 2401 Enon Road has 150 sites with 20/30/50 amp electric, a spring fed swimming lake, a dump station, hot showers, laundry, and a snack bar. Buck Creek State Park Campground along the 2,120 acre C.J. Brown Reservoir is closed for a major renovation from October 2025 through early summer 2026, but its 23 wooded cabins remain bookable in the meantime. A bit farther out, John Bryan State Park near Yellow Springs (about 15 miles south) offers wooded sites along the Little Miami River. Pro tip: book Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends at least 3 months ahead through reserveohio.com.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/buck-creek-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an Enon RV trip?
Late April through October is prime time for RV camping in Enon, with the absolute sweet spot landing between mid May and late September. Summers are warm and humid with highs in the low 80s, perfect for swimming at Enon Beach's spring fed lake or boating on C.J. Brown Reservoir. Early fall brings crisp 60 to 70 degree days and excellent foliage at nearby John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge. Winters in Enon are cold, often dipping into the 20s with occasional snow, but plenty of hosts rent year round if you want a cozy off season escape. Local insider tip: target the second or third weekend of September for warm days, cool nights, fewer bugs, and noticeably lower nightly rates.
weather.gov/iln/I've never rented an RV before. Will I really be okay?
Yes, and you're in great company, a huge share of RVezy guests in Enon are first time renting an RV. Every host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, slide outs, the generator, the toilet, and dump procedures, so you don't leave until you feel confident. You can also message the host with questions before booking and they're available throughout your trip if anything comes up. If driving a big rig makes you nervous, choose a smaller Class B campervan rental in Enon or a 20 foot travel trailer, or simply book delivery and skip driving entirely. Pro tip: schedule pickup for mid morning so you have unhurried time for the orientation and a relaxed drive to camp before dark.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if I break down or have an issue on the road?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking in Enon includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on I-70, a dead battery at a state park, or a propane issue at Enon Beach Campground is one phone call away from help. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip for anything non mechanical, like questions about hookups, extensions, or host communication. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number to your phone before pulling out of the host's driveway, and snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN and license plate so you have everything ready if you ever need to call.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Enon RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, interstate travel is absolutely allowed and Enon's location makes it a fantastic launch pad for cross border road trips. From here you can easily reach Indiana (Indianapolis is about 110 miles west), Kentucky (Louisville is roughly 170 miles southwest), and West Virginia within a half day's drive. Trips into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and their insurance, so message the host directly from the listing to confirm before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance doesn't extend across that border. Pro tip: a popular RV road trip from Enon is the loop south to Red River Gorge in Kentucky, then back up through Hocking Hills, all on smooth interstates.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on an Enon RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Most Class C motorhomes get about 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class A rigs roughly 6 to 10, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 mpg). Gas prices in the Enon and Springfield area tend to run slightly below the national average, and stations are easy to find along I-70 and US 40. For a 300 mile weekend in a Class C at current Ohio prices, budget around $100 to $140 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Enon or Springfield before heading east toward Columbus, prices climb closer to the metro.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book a campground near Enon?
For the best campgrounds near Enon, plan ahead but don't panic, you have options. Ohio State Park campsites and cabins (like Buck Creek cabins now, with campsites returning in early summer 2026, or John Bryan year round) are reservable up to 6 months in advance through ReserveOhio at reserveohio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. Private parks like Enon Beach Campground also take reservations months out, especially for holiday weekends. For a typical summer weekend, aim to book 6 to 8 weeks ahead; for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, target 3 to 4 months ahead. Pro tip: midweek stays from Sunday to Thursday almost always have last minute availability, even in July.
reserveohio.com/What's it like driving an RV around Enon?
Driving in and around Enon is genuinely relaxing compared to most metros. The village sits in flat to gently rolling farmland in Clark County, and the main routes (I-70, I-675, US 40, and OH-4) are wide, well maintained, and RV friendly. Dayton is the closest big city at about 15 miles southwest, so if you'd rather skip urban driving entirely, book delivery from a local host. Winter can bring snow and ice from December through February, so check road conditions on OHGO before heading out. Local insider tip: avoid I-70 westbound between 4 and 6 pm on weekdays near the Dayton interchange, and instead loop south via I-675 for a smoother ride in a tall rig.
ohgo.com/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Enon?
Campgrounds near Enon are well equipped for an easy RV stay. Enon Beach Campground offers full and partial hookups with 20/30/50 amp electric, a dump station, hot showers, flush toilets, laundry, a snack bar, a game room, and a spring fed swimming lake with sandy beach. Buck Creek State Park's renovated campground (reopening early summer 2026) will feature enlarged camping pads, updated 30 amp electric hookups, a new playground and shower house, and new fire rings, with 86 electric and 21 non electric sites plus 23 cabins. Most local parks have potable water fill stations near the entrance, so you can top off your fresh tank on the way in. Pro tip: if you're heading to a non electric or boondocking site, ask your host about their generator and how long the house batteries last, it's a key piece of the walkthrough.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/buck-creek-state-parkWhat's actually inside the RVs I can rent in Enon?
Enon area RV rentals come surprisingly well stocked. Most listings include a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, real beds that sleep 4 to 8 depending on the floorplan, air conditioning, a furnace, and DOT approved seatbelts for travel. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and an onboard generator or solar setup for off grid stays around C.J. Brown Reservoir. WiFi varies, some hosts include a mobile hotspot, others rely on campground WiFi (Enon Beach offers free WiFi). Pro tip: check the listing's amenity list and photos carefully, then message the host to confirm specifics like coffee maker style or whether linens and kitchenware are included.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Enon%2C%20OhioWhat add ons and options should I know about when booking?
RVezy listings in Enon are wonderfully customizable. Popular add ons include delivery and setup, generator hours, bedding and towel packages, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, bike racks, kayaks, propane refills, dump and clean services, and pet fees if you're bringing a dog. Each add on is priced by the host and shown clearly during checkout, no surprises. Pickup is usually at the host's home, though many will deliver to Enon Beach Campground, John Bryan State Park, or your driveway. Mileage policies vary, so if you're planning a longer trip toward Hocking Hills or Cincinnati, look for hosts offering unlimited mileage upgrades. Pro tip: bundling the linens and dump/clean fee at booking often costs less than buying them as last minute add ons.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Enon%2C%20OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy, never directly with the host, which protects both sides. When you book, your card is charged for the rental cost, fees, and chosen add ons, and a refundable security deposit is held (typically a few hundred to around $1,500 depending on the rig). As long as the RV is returned in the same condition, on time, and within mileage and generator allowances, the deposit is released back to your card after the trip. Pro tip: do a thorough walkaround video at both pickup and dropoff, document existing scratches or chips, and follow the host's checkout checklist (especially dumping tanks and refilling propane if required) to ensure a smooth, full deposit return.
