Campgrounds and RV parks near Fostoria, OH

Fostoria sits in northwest Ohio at the corner of Seneca, Hancock, and Wood counties, roughly a half-hour drive from Findlay and about an hour south of Toledo. The surrounding area is farm country with pockets of beech-maple woodland, and it gives RV travelers a mix of state-park camping and private family resorts within a short drive of Interstate 75, US-23, and US-30. The closest public option is Van Buren State Park, a 296-acre park set in a remnant of beech-maple woodland surrounded by agricultural fields. A recent transformation converted all 61 campsites to include full RV hookups with electric, water, and sewer service. Just outside the park entrance, Adventure Bound Pleasant View (also listed as Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Pleasant View) runs a large family resort with pools, cabins, and full-hookup sites. Walnut Grove RV Resort sits along the Sandusky River near Tiffin, and Tee Pee Family Campground lies south of Fostoria between Upper Sandusky and Findlay, giving travelers several distinct base camps within about a 45-minute radius.

Van Buren State Park uses Ohio's state reservation system. Reservations are available year-round through ReserveOhio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727. Reservations must be made at least one day ahead of arrival and can be made up to six months in advance, so summer weekends and holidays should be locked in as early as the window opens. Private resorts book directly. Adventure Bound Pleasant View takes reservations through its own website, and Walnut Grove RV Resort and Tee Pee Family Campground handle bookings by phone or through their own sites. For holiday weekends and themed event dates, plan several weeks out; cabins and full-hookup pull-throughs sell out first.
