Campgrounds and RV parks near Garfield Heights, OH

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is the anchor attraction. Trails include the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath, the Ledges Trail through the Virginia Kendall area, and paths to Brandywine Falls, all accessible from parking areas such as Boston Mill Visitor Center. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs the length of the park with a bikes-aboard option. In Cleveland proper, families visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Blossom Music Center, opened in 1968 as the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra, hosts symphonic performances and major touring concerts. At Woodside Lake Park, on-site activities include a swimming pond with inflatables, boat rentals including kayaks and paddle bikes, and fishing. The Streetsboro KOA offers a swimming pool, fishing ponds, gem mining, a dog park, themed weekends, and a general store.

The regional camping season generally runs from mid-April through mid-October. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday is open May 1st through October 31st with full amenities, and its pool operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Woodside Lake Park operates from April 15 to October 15. Summer is peak season. Weekends around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day fill early at both parks, and holiday weekends typically require multi-night minimums. Fall brings cooler weather and foliage along the Cuyahoga Valley corridor, along with Halloween-themed weekends at family campgrounds. Winter options are limited. Most private parks near Garfield Heights close by late October. Some Ohio state park campgrounds close for winter, and most reduce the number of sites and amenities available November through March, with full-hookup sites offering electric only during winter months. Punderson State Park, roughly 30 miles east, is a common cold-weather option. Cuyahoga Valley National Park remains open for day use in winter but does not offer overnight camping in any season.

Sites at the Streetsboro KOA include full hookup sites with 30 and 50 amp electrical service, water, sewer, and cable TV connections, with pull-through sites for larger rigs. A dump station, laundry, showers, propane, and firewood are available on site. Quiet hours are enforced, and personal golf carts are not permitted to operate on the campground. Woodside Lake Park covers 100 acres with 250 camping sites ranging from primitive to RV, plus rustic cabins. Terrain is wooded and rolling, so leveling blocks are useful for back-in sites. The park operates its own lake for swimming, fishing, and rentals, and can be busy with day-use visitors on summer weekends. Cell coverage is generally good across the corridor, and grocery and hardware runs are easy from Streetsboro or the Boston Heights area near the national park.
