Campgrounds and RV parks near Genoa, OH

Genoa sits in Ottawa County in northwest Ohio, roughly fifteen miles east of Toledo and a short drive from the Lake Erie shoreline. The village works well as a base for RV travelers who want state-park camping, private RV parks, and access to the Western Basin's marinas, wildlife areas, and Toledo-area attractions without staying inside a city. The closest destination campground is Maumee Bay State Park, a large lakefront park run by Ohio State Parks. Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA Journey sits along the I-80/90 corridor and functions as a highway-friendly stop for travelers routing through the Great Lakes. Camp Sabroske, Paradise Acres Camp Grounds, and Portageview RV & MH Resort round out the nearby private options. Most sites in the area accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A through C motorhomes, with a mix of full-hookup and electric-only pads. Availability tightens sharply on summer weekends and holiday periods, so booking ahead is standard.

Maumee Bay State Park uses the ReserveOhio system. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance online at reserveohio.com or by phone at the state reservation call center. Sites for summer weekends and holidays tend to fill as soon as the six-month window opens, so setting a calendar reminder is worthwhile. Toledo East / Stony Ridge KOA Journey books through the KOA website and app, which is useful for one-night stopovers along I-80/90. Camp Sabroske, Paradise Acres Camp Grounds, and Portageview RV & MH Resort are independently operated; reservations are typically taken by phone or through each park's own website, and seasonal-site policies vary by property. RV renters should confirm rig length, slide-out clearance, and hookup type at the time of booking, since site dimensions vary widely between the state park and the private parks.
