Campgrounds and RV parks near Gratis, OH

Gratis sits in Preble County in southwest Ohio, roughly a half-hour drive from Hueston Woods State Park and within easy reach of Dayton, Oxford, and the Indiana line. The area is rolling farmland and hardwood forest, with Acton Lake and the old-growth beech-maple woods at Hueston Woods forming the main outdoor draw for RV travelers based in the region. Hueston Woods State Park covers nearly 3,000 acres in Butler and Preble counties, surrounds 625-acre Acton Lake, and protects a 200-acre old-growth beech and sugar maple forest designated a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service in 1967. Private options add flexibility close to Gratis itself. Off The Hook Campground and Oak & Ember Farms cater to travelers who want quieter, small-operator sites, while Rye Camp offers another nearby alternative for RV renters who prefer to stay off the state-park reservation grid.
