Campgrounds and RV parks near Green Meadows, OH

Outdoor activity in the area centers on the Little Miami River corridor. John Bryan State Park connects directly to Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve, with hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, a disc golf course, and stream fishing. A paddlecraft launch a few minutes from the park, at Jacoby Road in Xenia, provides access to the Little Miami State and National Scenic River. At Enon Beach Campground, families use the spring-fed lake for swimming and shore fishing for catfish, bass, and bluegill, with a sandy beach, playground, and game room on site. Off-site, the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton is a common day trip, and the town of Yellow Springs offers a walkable downtown, a brewery, and the paved Little Miami Scenic Trail for cycling.

Southwestern Ohio has a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and this is peak season for state park campgrounds. Weekends at John Bryan fill quickly, particularly for the nine electric sites, and early reservations are strongly recommended. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel in the region. Late spring is the wettest stretch, with April and May typically the rainiest months, so campers should plan for rain and check site drainage. Fall brings cooler nights and foliage color through the Little Miami River corridor, with lighter crowds after Labor Day. Many private parks in the area, including Enon Beach Campground, operate on a seasonal schedule from mid-April through mid-October and are closed in winter. John Bryan State Park Campground stays open year-round, though group camps close from November through April. Snow and freezing temperatures are common from December into February, and off-peak campers should verify facility status before arrival.

Expect a mix of private RV parks and a state park within about 30 minutes of Green Meadows. Private properties such as Enon Beach Campground offer full and partial hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service, pull-through sites, hot showers, laundry, and a snack bar, along with lake swimming geared to families. Site layouts lean toward open and social rather than secluded. John Bryan State Park Campground is more rustic. Sites are paved and largely open with limited tree cover between them, a shower house and vault toilets serve the loop, and a dump station is on site. Confirm the site number on any reservation.
