Campgrounds and RV parks near Haskins, OH

Haskins is a small village in Wood County, Ohio, positioned between Bowling Green and the Maumee River corridor southwest of Toledo. RV travelers use it as a base for the Oak Openings region, the Maumee Valley, and Lake Erie day trips, with campgrounds concentrated along the river to the west and near the Ohio Turnpike interchange to the north. The closest options are private, family-run parks. Twin Acres Campground sits in nearby Whitehouse and has been operated by the Gater/Jacobs family since 1969, offering wooded sites geared to seasonal and weekend campers. Big Sandy Toledo-Maumee Campground and Bluegrass Campground cluster near Swanton along State Route 295, while Casual Campfire RV Campground provides another private option in the area. For a public-land alternative, Mary Jane Thurston State Park Campground lies about 20 minutes southwest along the Maumee River near Grand Rapids. The park's 105 acres sit along the Maumee State Scenic River and include electric and non-electric sites, tent sites, and river access.

Mary Jane Thurston State Park Campground is reserved through the Ohio State Parks system at ReserveOhio, or by phone at (866) 644-6727. Reservations open up to six months in advance, and the park expects a reservation on arrival rather than first-come, first-served. Pets are permitted at all sites. Private parks in the corridor, including Twin Acres Campground, Big Sandy Toledo-Maumee Campground, Bluegrass Campground, and Casual Campfire RV Campground, handle bookings directly through their offices and websites. Many sites at these parks are held by seasonal campers, so transient RV inventory is limited on summer weekends and should be locked in well ahead of holidays and local events.
