Campgrounds and RV parks near Hudson, OH

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is the main draw. Renters typically spend days hiking to Brandywine Falls, riding sections of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, or booking a one-way ticket on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and biking back. Hale Farm & Village adds a living-history stop that works well with kids. On-park amenities help fill downtime between excursions. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday has a seasonal heated pool, stocked fishing ponds, gem mining, and a 9-hole disc golf course. Woodside Lake Park centers on a lake with lifeguards, inflatables, kayak and paddle-bike rentals, and a beach. Downtown Hudson itself is walkable, with a historic town square, shops, and restaurants a short drive from any of these campgrounds.

Late spring through early fall is the practical camping window around Hudson. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday runs May 1 through October 31, and Woodside Lake Park's regular camping season runs May 1 through November 1, with a limited winter monthly option at Woodside. Most private RV parks in the area follow a similar warm-season calendar. Summer is peak. July and August bring highs around 81 Fahrenheit with humid afternoons and frequent thunderstorms, and holiday weekends fill quickly at both KOA and Woodside. Late spring is the wettest stretch, with April averaging the highest monthly precipitation at the nearest climate station, so trip planning should account for muddy sites and pop-up storms. Ohio state parks in the region accept reservations up to six months in advance through reserveohio.com, and waterfront sites at parks like West Branch sell out early. Fall brings cooler nights, dropping into the 40s Fahrenheit by late October, along with foliage color through the Cuyahoga Valley. Winter camping is limited: freezing temperatures, snow, and closed amenities are typical from December through March.

Expect a mix of level gravel pads, some grass sites, and a heavy share of seasonal residents at the larger private parks. Woodside Lake Park is dominated by long-term seasonal RVs across roughly 250 sites, with a smaller number of overnight pull-throughs and gated access. Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA Holiday has controlled-access entry, a general store, laundry, and a family-oriented feel that parents tend to appreciate. Hookups vary by park and site. Full hookups with 30 or 50 amp service are common at KOA and at premium sites in Woodside, while some tent and primitive sites carry water and electric only. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the Streetsboro-Hudson corridor. Bring leveling blocks: reviewers consistently note uneven pads, and the area's clay soil holds water after storms.
