Campgrounds and RV parks near Lake Buckhorn, OH

Lake Buckhorn sits in south-central Holmes County, Ohio, on a 220-acre reservoir impounded in 1967 on a tributary of Doughty Creek, part of the Killbuck Creek and Walhonding River watershed. The community itself is a private, members-only gated development, so the lake is not open for general public boating or fishing. Ohio State Route 83 forms the eastern boundary and leads north about 8 miles to Millersburg, the Holmes County seat, and south about 16 miles to Coshocton. For RV travelers, the appeal is the surrounding landscape rather than the lake itself. This is the heart of Ohio's Amish Country, with rolling farmland, cheese houses, and Roscoe Village in Coshocton within easy driving distance. The terrain is hilly and wooded, and county roads carry both cars and horse-drawn buggies. Campgrounds cluster along the SR 39 corridor between Berlin, Walnut Creek, and Millersburg to the north, and along US 36 near Coshocton to the south. Options range from family resort parks with pools and activities to quieter full-hookup RV parks aimed at adult travelers.

There is no state-park or federal reservation system in play at Lake Buckhorn itself, since the lake and community are private. All bookings run directly through each private campground. Berlin RV Park and Campground Ltd, Scenic Hills RV Park, Timbercrest Camp and RV Park, and Whispering Hills Jellystone Recreation each take reservations by phone or through their own websites. Coshocton KOA Holiday books through the KOA website and app, with KOA Rewards discounts available at checkout. For themed event weekends at Whispering Hills Jellystone Recreation, plan on booking well in advance and expect minimum-night requirements, especially on holiday weekends. For summer weekends and fall-foliage dates, reserve as early as possible. Cancellation and deposit rules vary by park, so confirm terms at the time of booking.
