Campgrounds and RV parks near Lake Lakengren, OH

Lake Lakengren is a private, gated lake community in Gasper Township, Preble County, Ohio, roughly three miles southwest of Eaton and about 25 minutes from Dayton. The community itself is centered on a private spring-fed lake and is closed to non-resident visitors, so RV travelers base their trips at surrounding public and private campgrounds in Preble and Butler counties. The closest and most established option is Hueston Woods State Park, about 20 to 25 minutes south near College Corner. The park surrounds 625-acre Acton Lake and protects a 200-acre old-growth beech and maple forest that was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1967. Its year-round campground includes Horsemans Camp - Hueston Woods State Park for equestrian units and the family loops at Area 3/4 - Hueston Woods State Park. Private campgrounds fill in the map. Archway Campground and Natural Springs Resort sit near New Paris along the Ohio-Indiana line off I-70, while Off The Hook Campground is a fishing-focused park in Camden, southeast of Lake Lakengren. Together they cover everything from primitive tent sites to full-hookup RV pads and cabins.

Public sites at Hueston Woods State Park, including Horsemans Camp - Hueston Woods State Park and the family loops at Area 3/4 - Hueston Woods State Park, are booked through the Ohio State Parks reservation system online or by calling the state reservation center at 866-644-6727. Ohio does not charge a state park entrance fee, but a reservation account is required to hold a site. Private parks handle their own bookings. Natural Springs Resort takes reservations directly through its website and by phone, and Off The Hook Campground reserves through its own site. Archway Campground is typically reserved by phone. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve well in advance and confirm hookup type, rig length and pet policy before arrival.
