Campgrounds and RV parks near Lawrenceville, OH

Buck Creek State Park features a large reservoir open to unlimited-horsepower boating, with two wheelchair-accessible fishing piers: one at the marina and a second near the visitor center. The park provides a 2,400-foot sand beach near the boat launch, boat ramps, and 13 trails for hiking, with select multi-use routes open to horseback riders. Enon Beach Campground has its own swim lake with a sandy beach, stocked with catfish, bass, and bluegill, and no state fishing license is required to fish it. Off-site, families use Lawrenceville as a launch point for the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, the shops and trails of Yellow Springs, and John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge for hiking along the Little Miami River.

The core RV season in this part of Ohio runs from late April through October. Summer weekends are the busiest, especially around Independence Day and Labor Day, when lakefront sites at Buck Creek fill well in advance. Spring brings unsettled weather and higher creek levels, but campsites are easier to reserve and the trails are quieter. Fall delivers the most stable RV weather, with cool nights, warm days, and color in the hardwoods through mid-to-late October. Bug pressure drops noticeably after the first frost. Winter RV camping is limited. Buck Creek offers year-round deluxe cabins in a wooded area separated from the campground, so cold-season visitors typically shift to a cabin rather than an RV site. The Buck Creek campground recently completed a full renovation that enlarged camping pads, updated electrical hookups, and added a new shower house and playground, so confirm current site availability when booking. Private parks like Enon Beach operate on a longer season and absorb some of that demand.

Sites at Buck Creek are a mix of electric (30-amp) and non-electric, with 86 electric and 21 non-electric sites large enough to fit 35-foot RVs. The renovated campground added enlarged pads, a new shower house, and new fire rings throughout. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the Springfield area on major carriers. Enon Beach leans toward a long-stay, family-oriented feel. Amenities include a playground, a game room, a snack bar, an indoor meeting room, a chlorine-free swimming pool, picnic tables, fire circles, grills, restrooms with hot showers, and laundry facilities. Reviews note the presence of seasonal residents, so set expectations accordingly. Groceries, fuel, propane, and RV supplies are easy to find in Springfield and Enon, both within a short drive of Lawrenceville.
