Campgrounds and RV parks near Loveland, OH

The Little Miami Scenic Trail is the dominant draw. The paved rail-trail runs through Little Miami State Park and stretches roughly 70 miles, with connections to a wider regional trail network of over 300 miles. Loveland Bike Rental operates at the Nisbet Park trailhead, and the mostly flat surface suits riders of all ages. On the water, the Little Miami River is a designated State and National Scenic River known for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. Camp Cedar RV Resort sits about a mile from Kings Island amusement park and Soak City, a strong pick for families combining camping with theme-park days. Stonelick State Park adds swimming, paddling, and hiking. Visitors can swim at the sandy beach, fish for largemouth bass and channel catfish, or explore the Red Fox and Southwoods trails. A disc golf course and mountain bike trails add variety.

Peak camping season runs from late spring through early fall. Ohio state park campgrounds operate on a seasonal schedule, with full amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, and potable water available from roughly April through October. Weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day book heavily, especially lakeside sites at Stonelick. Spring brings wildflowers, higher river flows for paddling, and muddy trail conditions after rain. Trails near campground entrances can get soft after storms, so waterproof footwear is worth packing for spring visits. Summer is warm and humid with frequent afternoon thunderstorms, and it is the busiest window for Kings Island and river outfitters. Fall delivers cooler nights and foliage along the Little Miami corridor, with fewer crowds after Labor Day. Winter camping is limited: Ohio State Parks are winterized in late fall to prevent frost and ice damage, so while some sites at Stonelick remain reservable through the cold months, water service and modern restrooms are shut down and the number of usable sites is reduced.

Sites near Loveland range from resort-style paved pads to primitive riverfront clearings. Camp Cedar offers full hookups, paved sites, pools, dining, and shuttle access to Kings Island, useful for families who want amenities within walking distance of their rig. Expect tighter site spacing at resort parks and some road noise from nearby highways. Stonelick State Park runs larger, more traditional campsites. The campground has around 115 sites, most with electric hookups, and a handful of premium sites overlook the lake. A camper cabin is also available for rent, and the campground features flush restrooms, hot showers, a dump station, and laundry facilities. Morgan's Riverside is a different experience. It is a primitive campground where each site has a picnic table and fire grate. Porta-potties are scattered throughout, with a main bathroom and shower building near the office, alongside a small campground store and concession area.
