Campgrounds and RV parks near Maria Stein, OH

Maria Stein sits in Mercer County in western Ohio's farm country, roughly midway between two of the state's most-visited reservoir parks. RV travelers use the town as a base for lake camping without long drives: Lake Loramie was originally constructed in 1824 as a reservoir for the Miami and Erie Canal, lying a short drive east, and Grand Lake St. Marys, Ohio's largest inland lake at 13,500 acres, sits just to the north. The two state parks handle the bulk of RV traffic. The Lake Loramie campground offers a variety of site types including full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric; electric-only sites; and non-electric tent sites, with ADA-compliant cedar cabins as a roofed alternative, while Grand Lake St. Marys Campground offers a diverse mix of around 200 campsites: 148 electric sites, 33 full hookup sites with water and sewer, and 10 standard non-electric sites, plus seven rustic rental cabins with lake views. Smaller private options round out the area. Rossburg Acres Campground and Easy Campground serve travelers who want a quieter, non-state-park stay, and Wapakoneta KOA Holiday, roughly 20 minutes north, offers a full-service KOA setup for families using the town as a jumping-off point.

Ohio state parks use a single reservation system. All sites require advance reservations through reserveohio.com; no walk-ins are accepted, and the same booking line and six-month window apply to both Lake Loramie and Grand Lake St. Marys. Waterfront and full-hookup sites go first, so setting a calendar reminder for the day the window opens is worthwhile for peak weekends. Private campgrounds each run their own system. Wapakoneta KOA books through the KOA website or directly with the property, and smaller operations like Rossburg Acres Campground and Easy Campground typically take reservations by phone. Confirm season dates directly with each operator, since private parks in the area generally operate on a shorter April-to-October schedule.
