Camping near Marshallville, Ohio
Marshallville sits in northern Wayne County, Ohio, at the northern edge of the state's Amish Country and within about a half-hour drive of Akron, Canton, and Wooster. The village is surrounded by farm country, so most RV camping options are private family-run parks on rural roads rather than large public campgrounds.
Caskeys Campground, just outside Orrville, is the closest option and offers grassy sites with a swimming lake and a separate fishing lake. Clays Park Resort North Jellystone and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort focus on family activities and water recreation, while Maple Lakes Campgrounds and Meadow Lake Park serve RVers looking for quieter lake-oriented stays.
The area works well as a base for trips into Holmes County Amish Country to the south, Cuyahoga Valley National Park to the north, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton to the east. State parks with camping, bookable through ReserveOhio, are within an easy drive but tend to fill quickly on summer weekends.
Things to do near Marshallville
Johnson Woods State Nature Preserve, on Fox Lake Road in Marshallville, protects one of Ohio's largest remaining old-growth forests, with a boardwalk trail winding past white oaks, red oaks, and hickories that are more than 400 years old. Wooster Memorial Park adds more foot trails on wooded ridges a short drive south.
Wayne County anchors the northern edge of Ohio's Amish Country, so day trips easily reach cheese shops, bakeries, and the Amish Country Byway through Berlin, Walnut Creek, and Millersburg. Lehman's in Kidron draws visitors from across the country for its non-electric farm and household goods.
Families staying at Caskeys Campground, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, or Clays Park Resort North Jellystone can mix swimming and campground activities with visits to Secrest Arboretum in Wooster, Ramseyer Farms in fall, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park about thirty minutes north.

Late spring through early fall is the core RV season in this part of Ohio. Most private campgrounds around Marshallville operate seasonally, and Caskeys Campground is a seasonal operation. May through September brings the most comfortable weather, with average highs in the seventies and low eighties Fahrenheit and moderate rainfall.
Summer is peak booking season. Holiday weekends around Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day fill fast at family resorts, so plan several weeks ahead. June is typically the wettest month of the year in the Akron area, so expect afternoon thunderstorms.
Fall is a strong shoulder season. Wayne County hosts farm tours, apple picking, and pumpkin-patch events through October, and Secrest Arboretum and nearby state parks draw visitors for fall foliage. Winter camping is limited: temperatures drop well below freezing, snow is common, and most private parks close for the season.

What to expect
The landscape around Marshallville is flat to gently rolling farmland with scattered woodlots, and roads are shared with Amish horse-drawn buggies, so drive slowly on rural routes, especially at dawn and dusk. Cell service is generally good but can drop in wooded areas.
Private parks in the area lean family-oriented, with grassy sites, swimming and fishing lakes, and a mix of long-term seasonal residents and short-stay campers. Site spacing can feel close at smaller campgrounds, and amenities vary widely, so confirm hookup amps, sewer, Wi-Fi, and shower quality before booking.
Grocery stores, hardware, propane, and RV supplies are available in Orrville, Wooster, and Massillon within a short drive. Local specialty stops include Marshallville Packing Co. for meats and numerous Amish bakeries and cheese houses in surrounding villages.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Marshallville, OH?
An RV rental in Marshallville is one of the most affordable ways to explore northeast Ohio. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes run roughly $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A rigs sit between $250 and $400 per night. Prices dip noticeably in spring and late fall when Wayne County campgrounds are quieter. To score a cheap RV rental in Marshallville, book midweek, choose a travel trailer with delivery to a nearby park, and use the price filter to sort low-to-high. Booking 6 to 8 weeks ahead of Ohio summer weekends often locks in the best rates before host calendars fill.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marshallville%2C%20OhioWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Marshallville?
Great news for first-timers: a regular Ohio driver's license (or any valid US/Canadian license) is all you need to rent an RV in Marshallville. Ohio does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or special RV endorsement for any motorhome or trailer you'll find on RVezy, regardless of length. You'll need to be 25 or older to book, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during checkout, so there's no paperwork to mail or office to visit. Visiting from outside North America? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club before you fly in. That's it, you're ready to hit US-30 and explore Amish Country.
bmv.ohio.gov/your-license-id-vehicle/dl/dl-classWhat protection and roadside assistance come with my RVezy booking?
You are covered from the moment you book. Every RV rental in Marshallville, OH through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on State Route 57 or a dead battery at a local campground is just a phone call away. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout so you can pick what fits your comfort and budget. Combined with the host's pre-trip walkthrough, it means you can focus on the fun, not the what-ifs.

Yes, plans change and RVezy is built to handle it. RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy across the platform, which includes a full money-back grace period after booking so you can lock in your Marshallville RV trip with confidence. Refund eligibility after that grace period depends on how far out your trip is. You can review the full cancellation details during checkout and in your RVezy dashboard. Book early to secure the best Wayne County rigs, then relax knowing flexibility is baked in.

Absolutely, your dog is welcome on the road. Plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Marshallville, and you can find them in seconds by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Nearby, Quail Hollow Park in Hartville (about 25 minutes east) has dog-friendly trails that are a hit for leashed sniffing on designated paths. Pack a tie-out, collapsible water bowl, and your pup's vaccination records. Message the host before booking to confirm any breed or size notes and you are set.
starkparks.com/parks/quail-hollow-park/Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Marshallville?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start your trip. Many Marshallville hosts offer RV delivery directly to local campgrounds like Camelot Camping Grounds (just down Warwick Road), Caskeys Campground in Orrville, or Whispering Hills RV Park in Shreve. Your host will tow or drive the rig to your site, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through everything from the awning to the propane stove. That means no city driving, no backing into a tight site, and no learning curve, perfect for first-time renters or families with kids. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see which Marshallville rigs offer it and ask about the delivery fee, which is usually based on mileage from the host's location.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/campingHow do mileage policies work and how far can I drive?
You have plenty of road to roam. Most Marshallville hosts include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 free miles per day) with affordable per-mile rates after that, and a growing number of listings offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, ideal for longer loops. From Marshallville you can reach Cuyahoga Valley National Park in about 50 minutes, Mohican State Park in about 45 minutes, Lake Erie's Cedar Point area in around 1 hour 45 minutes, and Amish Country's Berlin and Walnut Creek in 30 to 40 minutes. Each listing shows the mileage policy clearly before you book. If you are planning a big multi-state loop, filter for unlimited mileage upfront to keep budgeting simple.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marshallville%2C%20OhioWhere are the best campgrounds near Marshallville to stay in an RV?
You have great choices right in and around Wayne County. Popular options include Whispering Hills RV Park in Shreve (full hookups and a lake) and Mohican State Park Campground (about 45 minutes south) with electric hookups along the Clear Fork River. Book Ohio State Parks through ReserveOhio up to 6 months in advance, while private parks usually take direct phone or online bookings. Summer weekends fill fast, so lock in your spot early to pair with your Marshallville RV rental.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/mohican-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Marshallville?
Late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Marshallville. Summer (June to August) brings warm days averaging 78 to 85F with comfortable 60F nights, great for Lake Erie beach trips and Amish Country touring. September and early October are arguably the best window: crisp 65 to 72F days, fall foliage across Wayne County, and fewer crowds at Cuyahoga Valley and Mohican. Spring (April to early May) is quieter but expect rain showers and chilly nights in the 40s. Winter rentals are available from select hosts with heated tanks, useful for visiting Amish bakeries with a cozy rig as base camp.
weather.gov/cle/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
Yes, first time renting an RV is genuinely easier than people expect, and Marshallville is one of the friendliest places to start. Your host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, electrical, awning, slide-outs, and dump procedure, and most happily answer questions by text mid-trip. The roads around Marshallville are flat, rural, and low-traffic, ideal for getting comfortable behind the wheel before tackling anything bigger. Start with a smaller Class C motorhome or a travel trailer if you have a capable tow vehicle, and book delivery for your first trip so you can skip the driving entirely. Add RVezy's 24/7 roadside support and you've got a true safety net.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/travel-info/ohio-bywaysWhat happens if something breaks down on my trip?
You are never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat on I-76, a battery issue at Mohican State Park, or a propane hiccup near Berlin, one phone call dispatches help. For mechanical questions specific to the rig (like how to reset the inverter or restart the fridge), your host is your first call and most respond within minutes by text. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Save your host's number and the RVezy roadside line in your phone before you leave Marshallville, and snap a photo of your rig's plate and VIN so you can share details fast if needed.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Marshallville?
You're sitting in a fantastic launchpad. Popular RV road trips from Marshallville include Amish Country (Berlin, Walnut Creek, Sugarcreek) just 30 to 40 minutes south for buggy rides and cheese tours; Cuyahoga Valley National Park about 50 minutes north for waterfalls and the Scenic Railroad; Lake Erie's Cedar Point and Sandusky around 1 hour 45 minutes northwest for the islands and beaches; Hocking Hills State Park around 2 hours 45 minutes south for caves and waterfalls; and Pittsburgh, PA about 2 hours 15 minutes east for a city weekend with the rig parked at a nearby KOA. Cross-border travel into other US states is generally allowed (always confirm with your host), while travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals.
nps.gov/cuva/index.htmWhat should I budget for fuel on my Marshallville RV trip?
Easier on the wallet than most people think. Travel trailers don't burn extra fuel beyond your tow vehicle's normal MPG hit (expect a 30 to 40% drop), Class C motorhomes typically deliver 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A gas rigs run 6 to 9 MPG. Ohio gas prices typically sit a bit below the national average. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop from Marshallville through Amish Country and Cuyahoga Valley in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $200 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Pilot in Lodi or the Marathon in Orrville before heading out, both have easy big-rig access, and use GasBuddy to spot cheaper diesel near US-30 if your rig runs on diesel.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Marshallville?
Earlier is better, but you still have options. For Ohio State Parks like Mohican, Malabar Farm, and Findley, ReserveOhio opens reservations 6 months in advance and prime summer weekends (especially around July 4th and Labor Day) can sell out within hours of opening. Private parks near Marshallville typically book 2 to 6 weeks ahead for summer weekends and often have midweek openings even last-minute. Fall foliage weekends in late September and early October are increasingly popular, so aim for 2 to 3 months out for the best campgrounds near Marshallville.
reserveohio.com/What's driving like around Marshallville and northeast Ohio?
Refreshingly easy. Marshallville sits in flat-to-gently-rolling farmland with light traffic, wide rural roads, and well-maintained state routes like SR-57 and US-30, ideal terrain for getting your RV legs. Watch for Amish horse-drawn buggies on county roads south of town (slow down and pass with plenty of room, it's the law and the courtesy in Wayne and Holmes counties). Winter driving from December through February can mean lake-effect snow squalls blowing off Lake Erie, so check OHGO before heading north. Avoid downtown Cleveland and Akron in rigs over 30 feet during rush hour; instead, stick to I-76 and I-71 outside peak times. Pro tip: most Marshallville hosts will happily share their favorite back roads to skip the highways.
transportation.ohio.gov/services/ohgoWhat hookups and amenities can I expect at Marshallville-area campgrounds?
You'll find solid amenities at nearly every park. Camelot Camping Grounds, Caskeys, and Whispering Hills all offer 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups on most sites, plus dump stations for those on water-only sites. Mohican State Park has electric hookups and a centralized dump station near the campground entrance. Potable water fill stations are standard at every park's entrance or dump area. Wi-Fi is hit-or-miss in rural Wayne County, so plan to use your phone's hotspot if you need to work. Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank before leaving Marshallville at the campground spigot, and always dump your black tank before gray to flush the hose, your future self will thank you.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/mohican-state-parkWhat's actually inside a typical Marshallville RV rental?
More creature comforts than you'd guess. A typical motorhome rental in Marshallville comes fully equipped: a queen bed (often plus bunks or a convertible dinette sleeping 4 to 7 total), a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, roof AC, furnace, and a TV with DVD or streaming setup. Many include a generator for boondocking, outdoor speakers, and outdoor showers, all the seatbelts you need for driving passengers are clearly marked. Wi-Fi hotspots are sometimes included as an add-on. Each listing shows photos and an amenities checklist so there are no surprises. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count and Instant Book to narrow down the right family RV trip Marshallville setup in minutes.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safetyWhat add-ons and options can I get with my RV rental?
Hosts in Marshallville often offer helpful add-ons to make life easier. Common extras include linen and bedding packages ($25 to $75), full kitchen kits with pots, pans, and dishes ($25 to $50), camp chairs and outdoor mats, portable Wi-Fi hotspots, generators for off-grid stays, bike racks, and propane fill-ups. Delivery and setup is the most popular add-on, with fees usually based on mileage from the host's address. Pickup is typically late morning and dropoff by mid-morning the next day, giving the host time to clean and prep. Bundle linens, kitchen, and delivery for a true turn-key motorhome rental Marshallville experience.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Marshallville%2C%20OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and protected. You pay securely through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card at booking, never directly to the host, which keeps your money safe and your booking documented. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) before your trip starts and is released back to your card after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. Do a thorough walkthrough at pickup with photos, follow the host's dump and refuel instructions, and return the RV on time and clean to keep your deposit return smooth.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Marshallville RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes to most of the US, with one quick conversation for international trips. Cross-state travel in your Marshallville RV is generally welcomed, popular routes head east to Pittsburgh, south to Hocking Hills, or north to Michigan's Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 7 hours). Canada trips (think Niagara Falls, Ontario about 4.5 hours north) are sometimes allowed depending on the host and the protection plan, so message the host directly from the listing before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental due to insurance coverage limits. Keep a photo of your booking confirmation and ID handy at the Canadian border crossing to keep things moving fast.
