Campgrounds near Medway, Ohio
Medway sits in Clark County between Dayton and Springfield in west-central Ohio, giving RV travelers quick access to I-70, I-675, and US-40. The area lies within the Mad River and Little Miami River watersheds, so campgrounds cluster around lakes, rivers, and the limestone gorge country east of town.
Private parks handle most of the RV traffic. Enon Beach Campground sits just north of Medway near Enon and offers full-hookup and electric sites with lake swimming, fishing, and a dog beach. Green Valley RV Park serves travelers passing through the Dayton corridor, while Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground (also listed as Sky Lake RV Resort) occupies 113 acres of park land with 50 acres of stocked lakes and a mile of frontage on the Little Miami River.
For public-land camping, John Bryan State Park Campground near Yellow Springs is the closest state park option. It borders Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve and offers electric and non-electric sites in a wooded setting close to hiking and mountain-bike trails.
Things to do near Medway
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB is the region's headline attraction and is a short drive from every campground on this list. Dayton's other aviation and history sites are within easy reach as well.
Outdoor activity centers on the Little Miami River corridor. John Bryan State Park protects a limestone gorge carved by the Little Miami, designated a National Natural Landmark, and offers ten hiking trails, a nine-hole disc golf course, and mountain-bike trails. Anglers can fish the river for smallmouth bass, rock bass, and panfish with a valid Ohio license.
Buck Creek State Park, the village of Yellow Springs, and the Little Miami Scenic Bikeway are all within a short drive for day trips.

West-central Ohio has a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. Summer is the peak RV season: warm days, active state-park programming, and busy weekends at lake-based private parks. Reserve state-park sites well in advance for summer weekends and holidays.
Spring brings the region's wettest stretch, with May typically the rainiest month. Wildflowers peak in the Clifton Gorge preserve adjacent to John Bryan State Park, but low sites and river-adjacent trails can be muddy after storms. Fall offers cooler temperatures, lower humidity, and hardwood color through October, and is often the best window for shoulder-season travel.
Winter camping is limited. Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground lists year-round operation, though amenities like beaches, pools, and camp stores are seasonal at most private parks in the corridor. State-park showerhouses at John Bryan typically close in the cold months, leaving vault toilets available. Snow and freezing rain can affect road access from December through February.

Highly recommend 15/10 rating here. Clean and ready to go upon the agreed time and extremely flexible for my rental return considering I hit a traffic jam for 4 hours. Will be renting again from him alone when my personal goes down.

How to book
Ohio State Parks, including John Bryan State Park Campground, use the ReserveOhio system. Reservations open six months in advance and can be made online at reserveohio.com or by calling the state reservation line. Electric sites at John Bryan are limited and go quickly for summer weekends, so book early or set a cancellation alert.
Private parks in the corridor handle their own bookings. Sky Lake RV Resort offers online reservations for nightly stays and takes calls for weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual sites. Enon Beach Campground and Green Valley RV Park accept phone reservations, and most private parks require a deposit at booking.
Check length and hookup requirements before reserving. Private parks in the area generally handle big rigs and slide-outs, while state-park sites may be tighter.
What to expect on site
Expect a mix of well-groomed private parks and a semi-rustic state-park campground. Sky Lake RV Resort and Campground has lakefront sites with full hookups, level pads, and online check-in, and a substantial share of long-term and seasonal residents. Enon Beach Campground offers electric service, pull-throughs, a swimming lake, laundry, and propane, and sits near both I-70 and a rail line, so light traffic and train noise are common.
John Bryan State Park Campground is tents-and-smaller-RV friendly, with paved pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Only a portion of sites have electric, there are no water hookups at individual sites, and a dump station is available near the entrance. Cell coverage is generally reliable across the corridor.
Pets are welcome on leash at the parks on this list. Confirm site length, hookup type, and any pet restrictions when booking.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medway%2C%20OhioDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Medway, Ohio?
Good news: a regular Ohio driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Medway. Ohio does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, whether you're driving a Class A, Class B campervan, or Class C. To book on RVezy you'll need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and we'll verify your ID quickly through the platform. Visiting from another country? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before you fly in and pair it with your home license. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the process really is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my Medway RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Medway booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Interstate 70 or US-40 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers eligible damage to the RV and gives renters meaningful financial protection during the trip. During checkout, you (not the host) choose your level of coverage from the protection options RVezy offers, so you can match it to your trip and comfort level. Pro tip: pick your protection plan the same day you book the rig so you can stop worrying and start mapping out stops like the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force or Yellow Springs.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Medway RV rental?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that includes a money-back grace period after you book, so you have breathing room if plans change. Cancellation terms are set by RVezy rather than the individual host, and outcomes depend on factors like how far out from your trip you cancel and whether unusual events such as severe weather are involved. Southwest Ohio thunderstorms or a surprise schedule change won't leave you stranded with no options. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best Class C for a Buck Creek or Caesar Creek weekend, knowing RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip if you need to make a change.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on an RV trip from Medway?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental Medway options are easy to find on RVezy by using the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page. Many local hosts welcome dogs and even include extras like washable mats or outdoor tie-outs. Once you arrive, your pup will love the leashed trails at Buck Creek State Park in Springfield, the wooded paths at Caesar Creek State Park, and the dog-friendly village of Yellow Springs just 20 minutes from Medway. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm size, breed, or pet fee details, and pack a copy of your dog's vaccination record since some Ohio state park campgrounds may ask for it at check-in.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/buck-creek-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Medway?
Yes, RV delivery Medway is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who'd rather skip driving a big rig through Dayton traffic. Many local hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome rental Medway directly at popular spots like Buck Creek State Park, Enon Beach Campground, or even your own driveway in the 45341 area. The host handles leveling, hookups, and a full walkthrough so you arrive to a ready-to-camp RV. Delivery fees are set by each host based on distance and RV size. Pro tip: filter for Delivery on the listing page and ask the host for a fixed quote to Caesar Creek or John Bryan State Park before booking.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/caesar-creek-state-parkHow far can I travel on a Medway RV trip?
You can roam far on a Medway RV trip thanks to its central location between Dayton and Springfield, right off Interstate 70. From Medway you're about 25 minutes to downtown Dayton, 75 miles (roughly 90 minutes) to Cincinnati, 75 miles to Columbus, and around 110 miles to Hocking Hills State Park for waterfalls and cliffs. Indianapolis sits about 130 miles west, and the Smoky Mountains are a scenic 5-hour drive south. Each host sets their own mileage policy, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is gold for longer loops. Pro tip: send the host your rough route before booking so they can recommend the best mileage package for your itinerary.

Brown Reservoir with swimming and fishing. Caesar Creek State Park near Waynesville has 283 sites with full and electric hookups about an hour south. John Bryan State Park near Yellow Springs is a hiker's paradise along the Little Miami River, and Dayton KOA Holiday in Brookville has full-hookup big-rig sites with a pool. For a quieter feel, Enon Beach Campground sits just 10 minutes from Medway. Pro tip: Ohio State Parks reservations open up to six months in advance, so book popular summer weekends as early as possible.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/john-bryan-state-parkWhen is the best time to take an RV trip from Medway?
Late April through mid-October is the sweet spot for an RV road trip from Medway, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 60s in spring to the mid-80s in July and August. June, September, and early October are local favorites: warm days, cool nights in the 50s, and fewer bugs along the Little Miami River. Fall foliage peaks in mid-to-late October when Clifton Gorge and John Bryan State Park glow with color. Winter rentals are available too if you want a cozy off-season escape, though many campgrounds shift to limited hookups. Pro tip: book a Yellow Springs weekend in late September to catch farmers markets, fall colors, and ideal hiking weather all in one trip.
weather.gov/iln/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
You'll be in great hands, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host provides a full orientation and walkthrough at pickup, showing you how to operate the slide-outs, water system, propane, generator, and dump valves before you ever pull away. You can also message the host with questions before you book, and many Medway-area hosts specialize in working with beginners by offering smaller Class C motorhomes or travel trailers that drive much like a large van. Pro tip: pick a shorter first trip such as Buck Creek State Park, just 15 minutes from Medway, so you can practice setup without committing to a long highway drive on day one.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/buck-creek-state-parkWhat happens if I break down on the road?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked at a rest area on I-70, headed toward Hocking Hills, or rolling through downtown Cincinnati. Roadside assistance covers common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip to help coordinate next steps. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Medway, and snap a photo of the RV's VIN and tag during your pickup walkthrough so you can share details fast if you ever need help.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Medway RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, most hosts welcome cross-state travel, which makes an RV road trip from Medway especially flexible. Within a day's drive you can reach Mammoth Cave in Kentucky (about 4.5 hours), the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee (about 6 hours), Niagara Falls (about 6 hours), or Chicago (about 5 hours). Canadian trips through Ontario can also be possible depending on the host and insurance terms, so message the host directly to confirm before you book. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: if a multi-state loop is your dream, mention it in your booking request so the host can confirm mileage, generator hours, and any cross-border paperwork in advance.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on an Ohio RV trip?
Fuel is one of the biggest line items on any RV trip, but Ohio's gas prices generally sit below the national average, which helps when you rent an RV in Medway. Expect roughly 8-10 miles per gallon for a Class A motorhome, 10-14 mpg for a Class C, 14-18 mpg for a Class B campervan, and 12-16 mpg for a truck towing a travel trailer. Pilot, Love's, and TA travel centers along I-70 in nearby Brookville and Vandalia accommodate big rigs easily. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app to map cheaper diesel and non-ethanol stops along your route, and plan fill-ups before you head into rural areas around Hocking Hills, where prices can jump 30 cents per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Medway?
For the best campgrounds near Medway, plan to reserve early because Ohio's window opens wide. Ohio State Parks (including Buck Creek, Caesar Creek, and John Bryan) accept reservations up to six months in advance through ReserveOhio, and popular summer weekends and holidays often fill within hours of opening. Privately owned options like Dayton KOA Holiday and Enon Beach Campground can sometimes be booked just a few weeks out, especially midweek. Pro tip: if you're locked into a Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Labor Day trip, set a calendar reminder exactly six months prior at 8 a.m. Eastern to grab waterfront sites at Buck Creek before they vanish.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/reserve-a-place-to-stayWhat are driving conditions like around Medway, Ohio?
Driving conditions around Medway are friendly for RVers. The roads are mostly flat, well-maintained, and built for big vehicles, with Interstate 70, US-40, and State Route 4 providing easy access east-west and north-south. Avoid the narrow historic streets in downtown Yellow Springs and the low railroad underpasses south of Springfield with a tall Class A. Summer thunderstorms can roll through quickly, and winter occasionally brings lake-effect snow and icy bridges, so check the Ohio Department of Transportation's OHGO tool before you roll. Pro tip: if Dayton rush-hour traffic on I-75 makes you nervous, pick up your RV before 7 a.m. or after 6 p.m. for a much calmer first drive back to Medway.
ohgo.com/What hookups and dump stations can I expect at campgrounds near Medway?
Local campgrounds make life easy. Buck Creek State Park offers 111 electric sites (30 and 50 amp) with potable water spigots, hot showers, flush toilets, and a free dump station near the campground exit. Caesar Creek State Park has full hookups at many sites, and Dayton KOA Holiday in Brookville delivers full hookups, Wi-Fi, and a pool. John Bryan State Park provides electric-only sites with a shared dump station. Most Ohio State Parks accept payment at self-pay stations if the office is closed. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the campground rather than at the dump station, where lines can stretch long on Sunday checkout mornings in summer.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/caesar-creek-state-parkWhat's actually inside the RVs available in Medway?
You'll be surprised how well-equipped a typical campervan rental Medway or motorhome is. Most local rigs sleep 4-8 people with real mattresses, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control, dinettes that convert to beds, and dedicated seatbelts for travel. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning with LED lights, and either a built-in generator or solar setup for off-grid stops. Wi-Fi is usually BYO via a phone hotspot, which works well across most of southwest Ohio. Pro tip: review the listing's amenity checklist carefully and message the host to confirm essentials like linens, cookware, and a coffee maker, since those small comforts make a family RV trip Medway truly feel like home.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medway%2C%20OhioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
You can customize your Medway RV rental in lots of useful ways. Common host add-ons include generator hours, propane refills, bedding and towel kits, camp chair and table sets, outdoor grills, bike racks, kayak carriers, and kid kits with games. Pickup is typically at the host's address near Medway, Dayton, or Springfield, but many hosts offer delivery to your campground or driveway for a flat fee. Mileage policies vary, ranging from a per-day allowance with a small fee for extras to RV rental with unlimited mileage on certain travel trailers. Pro tip: list every add-on you want in your booking request so the host can include them up front, saving you a stop at the store on the way out of town.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Medway%2C%20OhioHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Medway through RVezy, you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card, so there's no cash or off-platform transfers with the host. A refundable security deposit is collected before your trip starts and held by RVezy (not the host), then returned after the rental ends assuming the RV is brought back in the agreed condition. Deposit amounts are shown clearly on each listing before you book. Pro tip: do a quick video walkaround of the RV at both pickup and drop-off and send it to the host through RVezy messaging. It's the easiest way to document condition and keep your full security deposit moving back to you fast.
